Freaking Elves

This campain reminds me of my first 3.5 campain. I had just moved, and had to switch groups from a Rifts group to a 3.5 Forgotten Realms group. Aparently, one of the players in my new group ALWAYS played an elf, and constantly extoling their virtues. Finaly, the DM decided to destroy the elven race of the face of farune, and dared the player to stop him. So that qwas the campain. All players HAD to play an elf, and our goal was to save the elves from the wrath of the DM. Kind of the inverse of your campain, although (A big black cat has just jumpped up on my keyboard, and I had to soo it of. No wings on it.) it was run with a serious bent. The DM was fair, and actualy alowed us to succead through good roleplay. We prevented or reversed the destruction of the elven race three time on our trek all the way up through the new epic rules and into godhood, only to discover that the sorce of all of these calamities (such as the destruction/death of everyone and everything the PC’s cared about) was the spirit inside a crystal ball that the PC’s had befreinded at 3rd level and been carring around in their packs. When asked “WHY?!” he responded, “Oh! it was for your own good. Look how powerful you’ve become. Aren’t I your best friend ever?”
