Year of the Ageless One 1479 Dale Reckoning, March 2 (continued)
Regrouping the party heads up the stairs, they feel a pressure change and notice cobwebs that feel as though they were made of ice. A few moments of climbing later they emerge into a vaulted cathedral like room whose purpose was once the glory of the morning lord but now is something quite different.
Arranged around the room are tables containing seemingly dessicated bodies, odd leather tubes connect the bodies to a device crafted of brass and crystal… within which hangs the Sunsword spoken of. A shadowy figure holds court from a throne on the far end of the room, his only subject appearing to be the odd spider oozes that tend the machinery.
With nary a moments hesitation Zenith charges the figure and the battle is on. Shadowy guardsmen appear, followed quickly by ghoul like shadow beings pulled from the corpses by some magic. There are slashing of tubes, killing of shadows, the Shadovar killing his own men to heal himself, and a last ditch desperate attempt to fling the sword into the shadow reaches. But in the end the party is victorious.
They rest up, gather their loot and after attempting to find the servant of Lathander decide to head back to Sundabar. They pick up their wagon, make their reports, sell what loot they need to and after making preparations head back towards Ozbern’s Crossing.
Year of the Ageless One 1479 Dale Reckoning, March 3-14
Traversing the pass between Sundabar and Silverymoon is mostly uneventful. The weather is standard northern spring… cold and wet. Few travelers brave the passes this early in the season and as they near the vale that comprises Pembrokeshire even their untrained eyes note that there seems to be an unusually large number of tracks for this early in the year.
