The Briefing
The characters awake in their respective homes to find a summons for an audience with the Emperor. The summons are dated today, and the time is in 5 minutes! They’ve overslept!
Immediately, they began rushing to the palace, but today is market day in the capital and the streets are packed, bustling with buyers and sellers.
Ning Shi rushed down the street, only to be blocked by a cart stacked high with clay pots of hot oil. She attempted to vault over a pedestrian in order to pass the cart before it blocked her way completely, but alas the poor pedestrian’s constitution was not up to supporting her weight and he crumpled beneath her. Of course, the people in the immediate vicinity thought her to be a thief and a conflict ensued.
