There are islands above the surface, but as this race requires lots of water but no air to survive, they stayed under the water until they decided the waters were getting too crowded. The islands wouldn’t work particularly well, so scientists, having determined the nature of the stars and space, decided to take to the stars. They have 10 tentacles, and fairly thick skin for a hydrostatic skeleton. They look kind of like octopodes, but tend to be a fixed bluish color, and cannot change their color. Though they can sort of “blush” a deeper blue, or become a paler blue in response to other emotions. When it comes to diplomacy, they tend to be very aggressive.
