This album brings traditional African sounds and voice into a great orchestrated score. Hand percussion, chanting and more give a flare to some tracks, while in others the instruments of the orchestra aren’t present at all and we are just left with a beautiful piece that brings us completely into Africa – such as “Yekelini Part I – Mia’s Lullabye”. “Heart of Darkness” and “Night” are good suspense tracks. “Cry in Silence” starts off a bit heavy but ends up with a softer creepier feel. “The Jablonsky Variations on a Theme” starts off alittle quiet but quickly become an intense action/battle track. Some of the longer tracks change up a little bit, but not too dramatically. “Carnage” is probably the least likely to be put on repeat for any type of moment. “Kopano Part II” is a nice quiet track that is a little on the suspenseful/darker side of quiet that reminds me of the track “Progeny” from Gladiator. Overall a pretty good score.
