This album is a bit friendlier to gaming than the first soundtrack. About half the tracks tend to be more thematic. Even the 7 minute long “Rain on the Castle” doesn’t have its ups and downs and mood changes that we saw on 3 minute tracks on the previous soundtrack. There is also a significant change in mood. There is much more action and less child-like wonder and magic on this one.
The tracks that have the most changes, and that I find the hardest to use are: “The Kings and Queens of Old”, “The Miraz is Crowned”, “The Sorcery and Sudden Vengence”, “The Duel”, “The Return of the Lion”, and “The Door in the Air”.
Also to note, tracks 13-16 are not actually film score but are songs by artists.
