Named for the flying saucer that crashed landed here many years ago, Saucer City is really nothing more than a way-station. The saucer has been inert… until recently.
What attracted people to the area is that oddly temperate climate, and the fact that bugs and snakes and other vermin are afraid to go near the saucer. It makes for a very comfortable stopping point in the desert.
There are a collection of tents and ramshackle homes in the area. The focal point of the community is The Bird House. This tavern is built into the trailer of a freight truck and it’s proprietor is a parrotoid named Bruce McFeathers.
The town is surrounded by various types of fences and tires filled with sand and rocks.
