Year 824, Elevenmonth, Day 23 – Waterday
This has been quite a day. After leaving the Queen of the Sea and moving into the city of Kaervek Port, I was immediately accused of kidnapping the city’s children. I spent most of the day locked in a room with three others, a human named Wolfram, a dracha named To’Gar, and a spryte named Cassy. It was rather trying to be locked in a small room with three strangers. They took my coat as well, so I had to try to keep my back out of view, lest they see the scars. We were all taken to trial and told that if we did not help to find the children, we would be executed for the crime. Of course, we all agreed, having little choice… I had given the chancellor Bryte’s name as my alibi, with him being the captain of the Queen of the Sea. Little did I know that the chancellor hated Bryte and accused him as well… He was given the same options as we were and he also made the same choice. He was not very happy with me, but he can never stay angry at me for long.
We have spent the rest of the day questioning people around town that will speak with us and trying to find any clues as to who or what kidnapped the children. We were told of sightings of small creatures clinging to the shadows and one of a medium sized creature that crouched down, skillfully using the shadows. So far, our makeshift group seems to be working well together. Currently, we wait for night to fall to set up a stake out to see if anything returns for the remaining children of the city.
