Located in a stable orbit around the L2 point of the Earth-Sol system, the L2 Habitat is a 30 km long O’Neill cylinder that was used to test the feasibility of a self-sustaining colony ship in 2242. Its success gave the green light to the launch of the Adam colony ship in 2284.
