Guardians of the Frontier

The Road watch are the highway patrolmen of Frontier. They maintain the safety and security of all roads to and from Frontier within a 20-50 mile radius. In addition to protecting merchants and travelers alike, they also serve as a cavalry force during wartime.

Most Road watch have family and farms surrounding the keep, live within the keep, or have shops/homes set up in the small roadside village crossroads.

Road watchmen serve 5 days a week, 3 days on the road, 2 days Keep duty.
Each Road watchmen is assigned two ‘lackeys’ each to assist in their duties.
A Road watch horse is not considered a warhorse, but known for it’s endurance and speed.

Road watch on patrol are allowed a commission of 20% of any found loot while on field patrol.
All other confiscated loot is turned over to the road watch warden and to the commonwealth of Frontier.

Basic supplies, rations, equipment are issued to the road watch without charge.
Road watch are paid 1 GP per week plus 1 GP per day spent on field patrol.

Road watch are usually promoted from Town watch positions.
