NCC-36 USS TELEMACHUS
NX- CLASS LIGHT ESCORT
“ Enterprise was … and in many ways still is my first love.”
– Admiral Jonathan Archer, 2161
Once the most advanced Earth starship of its time, the NX-class has been Starfleet’s primary vessel for fifty years, although over the last decade, it has been supplanted by the more advanced Bonaventure-class. It has an SM+12 hull, masses 675,000 metric tons and is 225 meters (245 yards) long. Each NX-class deploys with 4 shuttlepods – 2 active, 2 in storage. As the NX-class has been replaced on the front lines of Starfleet’s exploratory mission, the rank necessary to command this vessel has been reduced to commander (currently CDR Donovan Ford.)
As of 2205, all active duty NX-classes are being utilized as mobile training platforms, with cadets serving a 3 to 6 month tour of duty aboard the craft during their final year at the Academy. These vessels have been relocated to the relatively quiet Kassae Sector for training missions.
