As I lay here on my lousy air bed with Jordan cradling me I am trying to make sense of what happened today.Buck is apparently not the person I thought he was at all.
There is a knock at the door but I don’t want to move. There is another knock and Jordan goes to answer the door. It is Buck and he is yammering about a funky smell in his car. He leaves and I hear an odd series of thumps from outside, Jordan suddenly runs to me and says Buck just collapsed and fell down the stairs. I go out to investigate andBuck is out cold. I carry him up to his apartment and lay him down on his bed. I recall my basic first aid from boot camp and start to check him over and… My god his eyes are glowing green in a malignant sort of way that sends a chill through my spine. I back away shaken. What did they do to Buck? Is this why he did not seem like himself? Is he some fancy golem that is now breaking down? I immediately call Jack and he says he will be right over.
The stench in here is horrific from where I earlier threw up. Jordan and I start to clean up but then I realize what if that think that looked like Buck gets up? I race downstairs and grab my vest and my M4 Assault Rifle. I come up and help clean but keep a watchful gaze on the thing in Buck’s bed. We are done cleaning and now just have to wait agonizing minute after agonizing minute until Jack arrives.
The door just opens unexpectedly and Jack and a slender woman enter, the woman immediately heads for the thing on Bucks bed. Jack comes over to Jordan and I. I watch this woman walk, no wait, hover over to the thing on Buck’s bed. And is that… it is! It is hard to see under her clothes but she has a tail. I don’t want to know! I just hope she can deal with that thing on Buck’s bed. What is she doing? Oh my god she just put her hand… wrist… now arm all down his mouth!? How is this possible? And she extracts her arm and in her hand is. Oh my god I am going to be sick! Some sort of large worm with the head of a snake and those glowing green eyes! It seems very unhappy and looks absolutely disgusting. The woman seems pleased with her work and what she “caught.” She tells Jack this specimen will cover her fees and then she departs hovering away out the door… Jack departs soon thereafter. I Place a blanket on what apparently isBuck. Dear lord what the fuck was that thing! Jordan seems even more traumatized than I feel. I don’t know what else to do aboutBuck but let him rest. Jordan and I go downstairs and just curl up in each other’s arms holding one another until we fall asleep.

I wake up and go for my usual run. Oddly some asshole almost ran me over and then pulled over to yell and scream profanities at me. I try to ignore him and move on but he punched my buttons and after the last 24 hours I feel myself get angry at him, something I am not prone to at all. He suddenly fled in terror for no apparent reason. I am clearly not very intimidating… oh crap some new power! I quickly head off resuming my run before I attract more attention.
When I get home Jordan is still asleep so I setup my new laptop and practice my powers and such. Jordan is really sleeping in! I go check on her and realize she must have had some sort of night terror in her sleep and I crawl in bed with her holding her close.
At noon my delivers show up, Yay! Finally get to sleep in a real bed again. A rather nice and luxurious bed at that. I think I spent more on my furniture than Buck did on his car. Jordan scampered upstairs so she would not be in the way.
When I am done with deliveries I head upstairs and end up in a very awkward poker game with Buck and Jordan. Basically I tell Buck that everything that happened yesterday, that was simply not Buck, it was that creature inhabiting him. Not much more to say really.
I head out to Home Depot to get plumbing supplies and such. Buck and Jordan go for a drive while I am out. When we all get back Buck helps me install the plumbing for my new Hot Tub. When we finish the pizza arrives and we have music food and dancing to blow off a little steam. After a while Buck goes back to his apartment and I settle into my new Hot Tub and relax for a while. All that feels nice.
We go to bed early, tomorrow is the big day to invade the Montoya Villa and get rid of that evil bastard.

My alarm goes off at 0200 and I practically leap out of bed in excitement. I try not to wake Jordan though. I start to get dressed then give Bucky a call as I know he did not set an alarm, slacker. Of course he is not answering so I go up, get a pot and metal spoon then go wake him up in proper military fashion! Too bad I don’t have any firecrackers. Man he looks like shit. I tell him to start making breakfast and I will go get him some coffee, that finally perked him up.
After returning with coffee we eat some grilled fish. Bucky is so not a morning person, It Is a Glorious morning! I go and finish getting into my BDUs, Boots, Armor and tactical gear and pack up the guns and ammo in the magic bag Jack provided for this Op Plan. I do up any exposed skin in camo makeup. Oh my Buck is sulking because he does not have camo makeup, I am so going to remember this and I do up his face as well.
I open the door to leave the apartment and am met with a shivering Jordan, she looks so adorable! I give her a big hug and kiss before we go.
We get to the villa and do some scouting. Dear lord what are those!? The security guards are walking around with a trained three-foot Scorpion on a leash! That thing is UGLY and looks pretty nasty too. Buck is getting far too eager to just go in right now. We make some plans, I go invisible and activate my see invisibility as well so I can see my gun sights. We both teleport in and suddenly the entire villa is awash in bright lights. We must have tripped some damn magical tripwire or such.
As they say, no plan survives after first contact with the enemy.
