Aside from a few initial setbacks things seem to be going my way now. I have no idea what crazy magic these guys have that returns bullets back at the shooter. I am just lucky I was at a decent enough range I was able to discover it not the hard way when I tried shooting one of them. The Giant Scorpions turned out to be the easy critters, scary as heck but bait a group together and feed them a grenade and they were not much of a threat. Using said explosion as a distraction I was able to mostly take one of their guards by surprise and take do my teleport thing carrying his body which is how I discovered his magic ring. At first it was creepy scary, it had some sort of built in conditioning to serve Montoya but I resisted it. Not sure if it was my military conditioning or the assistance of my other new magic ring to resist magic but I am very thankful of both.

I saw Buck use his far-hitting bat and whack three of the scorpions and sent them flying then he teleported into the house and mentally told me where he was and that he found a secret entrance downstairs.

I ambushed another guard and he got a shot that I guess would have hit me since one of them went right back into his face and blew his brains out. I guess the ring has this magic bullet return magic thing to it.

I go inside and find Buck unconscious. He must have been susceptible to whatever magic effect I felt and seemed to drop most of the guards. Just as I enter I do find one guard who was still awake and would have undoubtedly have killed Buck in the next moment but I said Hi and he shot me, well himself actually. I love this ring! Against my better instincts I wake Buck up. About the same time the guy in a nearby cell wakes up as well, it turns out he is sort of here on a similar agenda and knows Jack so we agree to work together.

Anyway, we do a quick search of the secret basement and don’t find much. The Evil Wizard did have a nasty surprise in his workshop. But it turned out to be an even deadlier surprise for the eight gunmen who opened up on me full auto. Did I say I love this ring!?

We go up to the second floor I go to check a room and hear automatic gunfire from another part of the room, dear lord Buck no! I do my teleporty thing to where I hope I am between Buck and the gunmen. My aim is precise but Buck does not go for cover! Instead he charges right into point black range with three men with assault rifles! I hear the dozens of rounds exiting the assault rifles in horror point blank into Buck, the sounds muffled as Bucks own body acts as a sound suppressor. I try, not fast enough, to grab Buck and throw him to the ground and shield him with my own body. Me being much shorter than Buck I see the shooters, one is Montoya, shoot me in the head which would have been Bucks heart. But bullets magically reverse and explode Montoya and his two bodyguards heads into a disgusting burst of blood, grey goo and shattered bone fragments. I drop to the ground nearly crying as I check what I know is Buck’s dead body.

My god he is still alive! His body armor had been shattered and fragmented and torn into useless dust and advanced fabric, he has one or two dozen bullets in him but he is alive! I want to rush Buck to a hospital but I can’t, they will do tests and find out we are Dragons. Jordan! I need to get him to Jordan! But if I leave now the Evil Wizard will follow us and catch us un prepared. Our Mysterious Friend, Jack’s Friend. He can take Buck to Jordan! I tell him how to get Buck to Jordan and then Teleport Buck and them him to the car and start it for them. God I hope Buck survives, I again force myself not to cry. I go back to the villa.

I need to find this Evil Wizard and I need to find him now. I search everywhere I can for him. Damn it! This is taking too long!

Buck. What? How is he standing in front of me, it has only been minutes it feels. What the HELL is he doing back here, back in harms way! Get the hell out of here! He won’t leave. Fucking god dammed stupid Neanderthal of a moronic…

Ha! That stupid Evil Wizard just tried to sleep everyone again. Great now I have to wake Buck up again… do I? Fine, but I can put him to safe work.

I wonder if the Evil Wizard is in the Vault. I have us check it out. Ok, guards inside, unconscious, I dispatch them before they can be awoken again. I set Buck to begin loading everything into the Bag of Holding Jack provided. I go outside to dispatch the unconscious guards. When I am mostly done with them I am suddenly hit by a powerful bolt of lightening! OUCH! Thanks to this ring and being able to see all around me at once I finally pin point the Evil Wizard! Did I say I love this ring?

The rest is rather anti-climatic actually. I did my teleporty thing to the wizard, he started casting a spell at me and I gave him a big roundhouse boot to the brain pan. Dead wizard. Wow, Dragon strength is impressive, could not have done that before in one kick! Oh and the few remaining straggler guards showed up only to shoot themselves at me.

I am so pissed at myself for allowing Buck to convince me to allow him to come along. He almost got killed several times. Now I have to go home to Jordan and … She must be a mess after having Buck show up near death riddled with a dozen or two bullets.

I still cannot believe Buck ran into that room like that against that sort of firepower. I will confess I was impressed in his Golem fighting, but today he showed he is completely out of his depth in real combat and he nearly died.
