Heroes Lost: Tales of the Dark Cycle
The site will be down for maintenance at 0715 EDT on May 18. It will be short, around 10 minutes.

A Giant in this world is not quite the same as in others. Yes, they’re like men, but of a much bigger scale. What makes them different, is that is the tales spread of them that made them giants in the first place. A man whose renown as a brutish warrior will grow to fill the tales spread of him, as they describe figuratively his abilities to fight all day and all night, then he (and he alone!) will become that way. If someone is found to be his equal or rises to match him, they are destined to do battle or compete. A hunter of great renown might be said to be able to catch the wind, and there will be spread a tale of him doing just that. Which comes first, his doing of the deed or the spreading of the tale becomes irrelevant. The reality will somehow come to match the telling. This also entails, that as long as your deeds are known somewhere, by someone, a hero cannot truly die. The ending of his tale will be of his escape from the underworld and continued existence somewhere on a field of battle.
