The war of the great trench took place roughly 50 years ago, a sauhagin force several thousand strong invaded Sandhollow and retreated to the drop-off beyond the Sorceria Forest. Furious at their audacity, King Evani took the fight to them, and faced the Sauhagin army over the vast depths of the ocean. This bold move resulted in the defeat of the Sauhagin, who did not expect such an attack, however, the bloodied waters lured out something hideous from the depths. An aboleth and is mutant slaves came up from the depths and attacked the weakened army. There are few who know what happened afterwards, and none of the few survivors could confirm what happened to the King.
