Campaign Writeup (pdf)
The party was hired by Guthrie, the captain of the city guard, and Lord Tirion Ageron to rescue Tririon’s daughter, Tiriel, and Montague, a visiting noble from Winterhaven. They went missing near Ulf’s Mill two days before and now were being held for ransom.
Investigating the scene of the kidnapping showed signs that elves were responsible. Crossing the Weeping River to the southern forest they encountered a party of Gwyndariel Elves. The elves said that the kidnapper was formerly one of their own, a half-elf named Varis. Varis had been banished from the forest for offending the elders. In monitoring him they found he had fallen in with the Black Sashes.
The party discovered the whereabouts of Varis’s operation from a lieutenant of Mason Van Cleef named Ethan the Badger. He was basing his human trafficking ring out of the abandoned town of Moonglen. Though two of his men escaped, Varis and the rest of his gang were all killed, and the captives freed.
With the captives, the party found a book that served as a journal and ledger to the transactions. The party claimed it, vowing to crack it’s code and find those that Varis had already sold.
