Where is the sun?

April 15, 2011 14:53

I do not like these mines. I have not seen the sun in so long I have forgotten what it looks like. There is no water down here. My skin is so dry, dry and dusty. The dust settles in the lines of my body and my muscels, showing how I have grown and benefited from the hard labor. My arms and back now ripple with corded muscle.

Florannus has helped to keep my mind right. I am learning many things in the mines how to shape rock, the basics of mining, and what elemental earth looks like. I have also learned about these orks that hold the keys. Most do not like these mines any more than I do. They are lazy, slow, stupid, and most do not even know how to use the clubs and whips they carry. If I could get a weapon I could…..

I have been able to help some of the other slaves by catching rats and stealing food from the guards. I tell stories around the fire when we are not working. This helps to distract them from their situation. Most of them are broken men whose body will never leave this place. Not me Florannus keeps me strong, I will escape and I will be stronger because of this place, they will not break me.
