Step: Rank + WIL
Bear Mark allows an adept to avoid the effects of Horror Marks. When the adept becomes Horror-marked, he may make a Bear Mark Test against the Horror’s Spell Defense. If successful, the adept has isolated the Horror-mark and cannot be affected through it, and he suffers no ill-effects from being Horror-marked. if the test fails, the adept may re-attempt the Bear Mark Test whenever the Horror uses its power through the Horror-mark. If successful, the Horror’s attempt fails, although the mark is not isolated and the adept suffers other ill-effects from being Horror-marked. On an Excellent Result, he manages to isolate the Horror-mark as if he had succeeded on the first test. The adept can isolate a maximum of Bear Mark Rank Horror-marks with this talent. He may choose to stop isolating a Horror-mark to instead isolate a new one.
Bear Mark also allows the adept to exploit the Horror’s connection to him towards his own ends. If he knows a magical ability that allows him to track or locate a target, he may use an isolated Horror-mark to fulfill any requirements that ability has to establish a connection to a target. For example, the isolated Horror-mark counts as an item associated with the target for the Direction Sense talent.
