Homework assignments are set writing contributions designed to provide additional story information about your character. They should be posted on your character page though you can decide whether to make them private or public. Public is preferred.

Following are the homework assignment descriptions. Note that these are assigned to each group at different times.

YEAR ONE:

LETTER HOME

Assigned: Slytherin, Ravenclaw
Description: Write a letter home to your family (or whoever is at home). Show us how your character is reacting to his or her first few days at Hogwarts and who cares about him or her.

MIRROR OF ERISED

Assigned: Slytherin
Description: Dumbledore has determined that you are a witch or wizard with great potential. In order to better understand your inner virtues, and thus your potential impact on the wizarding world, the headmaster has arranged for you to encounter the Mirror of Erised while he observes from an invisible vantage point. Write a page or so describing what your character sees and why. Try to expose core aspects of your character.

WINTER BREAK

Assigned: Slytherin
Description: Tell us what you did on your break between first and second terms. Did you meet up with friends from Hogwarts? Visit family?

FAMILY TREE

Assigned: Slytherin
Description: Make character pages for several of your most important family members or family friends. About one paragraph each is fine for description. Keep in mind that any information you leave out is information I am free to make up as the story goes along. Make sure each page has a nice picture.

EASTER BREAK

Assigned: Slytherin
Description: Tell us what you did on your break between second and third terms. Did you meet up with friends from Hogwarts? Visit family?
