Salt Refinery
The salt refinery at the Comadreja Saltworks is a large, box-like building located at the end of a long rail track that is connected to the mine entrance.
Crushed salt is transferred from mine carts at a covered junction area onto hoppers and conveyor belts that sift out impurities before transporting the minerals to the mechanical refining unit inside the structure.
The mechanical refining unit prepares the salt for transportation, spitting it out into the adjacent salt storage domes. Loading bays for transport scows, barges, and trucks are arrayed on the opposite side of the building.
The machinery now sits idle as the mine is under a strict quarantine.
