Hyboria

Highly pacifistic and dispassionate to the rest of the world's conflicts, Badonia is responsible for nearly all the scientific, medicinal, and Alchemy-based breakthroughs of history, leading many to consider it the science capital of the world.

Location & Geography

Located in the northwesternmost point of Hyboria, mainland Badonia shares a border with only Triari and Ithaca. Since much of the Great Plains is largely unclaimed, official registars list one of their neighbors as Xibalba, though the Akkadians usually occupy lands far north for this to never evolve into a problem. Antillia, a large island off the coast of Montahq, also belongs to Badonia, and is often used for farming food and medicinal chemicals for the mainland.

Weather in Badonia is fair year-round, with only a few seasons every decade or so seeing any kind of inclement weather. Antillia is known for having the occasional monsoon, though it is rare; even more so that said monsoon will survive long enough to make it to the mainland. Badonia is also known for being a very "green" region, though very few of the plants are actually green, more often blossoming into light pinks, yellows, and purples. The country is also famous for its ability to harvest virtually anything in the incredibly fertile soil of Antillia, and indeed the island alone is nearly capable of sustaining the entire country, should it ever be forced to.

Host to a myriad of exotic creatures, Badonia is most famous for its uncommon birds. Aside from the occasional bird of prey, the only predators in the region are large cats, and they usually stay too far east to be a common sight. Towards the plains, small mammals also become more prevalent, though again, they usually stay away from human lands.

History

Having gained a written language only shortly after the Lons, Badonia is the oldest country to still be standing without having suffered any kind of civil war or major secession. Due to their steadfastedly pacifistic nature, they are also the only major western country to have not only avoided war with the Akkadians entirely, but to have also made an ally out of them.
