Ithaca is the westernmost territory of the Akkadian Empire, and is known for being highly reclusive when compared to the other territories.
Location & Geography
Controlling a large portion of easternmost shore, Ithaca is situated to the far west of Hyboria, sharing borders with Badonia to the north and Triari to the east. A large portion of Ithaci land falls within the Mohenjo Daro Valley, though most of it is resourceful and hospitable plains. Their borders fall short of the Underlands to the south, that region instead being controlled by Nederlad.
Ithaca will usually be warm all year-round, though on occassion it will experience a notably cold weather. Springs are usually marked by frequent downpours, and autumns by a sharp decrease in temperature. Most native Ithaci plants are evergreens, though some trees, particularly in the northern regions, have been known to shed their leaves as winter approaches.
The majority of Ithaci wildlife tends to be small, herbivorous creatures who are frightened by humans, though some small predatory mammals, such as wolves and lynxes are common enough to warrant mention.
History
Initially part of the Akkadian Empire, Ithaca became an independent territory following the conclusion of the Thousand Years War. Now it maintains strong relations with its neighbors, and has grown especially fond of Badonia and Nederlad.
More recently, many of the Ithaci have become motivated to establish dedicated port cities along their western coast, to act as rest and resupply locations for traders heading to or from Badonia. A small handful of those locations already exist, though the current word puts more than a dozen "rest stops" along the Ithaci coast within the next few years.
Internal & Foreign Relations
Ithaca is currently in the midst of a rather sticky situation. Their closest allies remain Badonia and Nederlad, though recent animosity between Nederlad and the other Akkadian states has forced Ithaca to distance itself from their southern brother in order to maintain face with Triari and Thule. Relations with Badonia remain strong, and many of the Akkadians currently engaging the Hyksos are Ithaci.
