Existing in fact but understood only in myth, the Bones serve as home to the ever-enigmatic Dragons, immortal beings of unimaginable power.
Location & Geography
Just south of the Golden Coast in Lon, the Bones are a string of two islands and a third, smaller one, arranged in a manner that resembes the bones of a finger—hence their rather superstitious name. The islands themselves are no bigger than Antillia, though they are exceptionally large for their location, considering the size of the mountains that comprise the Maulers.
Their climate is very appropriate for a tropical region, similar in behavior and output to that of Skull Island. Rain is extremely common throughout the year, with heightened frequency during the spring and summer months. Humidity is also a constant factor, and with the extreme heat that the islands are capable of reaching, dehydration is a serious concern.
Though the flora and fauna of the Bones is very poorly understood, many botanists have been able to reach educated speculations as to what kind of plants could be expected to grow there; the same holding true for wildlife. That being said, reason dictates that a hundred researches with a hundred years would not be able to discover and catalogue all the plants and creatures that grow on the island.
History
Largely viewed as the Hyborian equivalent to the Bermuda Triangle, Humans have avoided the Bones like the plague; any and all expeditions that travel anywhere near the islands are simply never heard from again. For thousands of years, they have simply been a black spot on the map, the "here there be monsters" that travel routes and trade ships simply avoid at all costs. For a while, the islands slipped into history, and were simply forgotten.
Then, just over one year ago, Lord Draxis of the Noma region in Lon announced that he was a Dragon, and that his true home and the home of his kin was in the Bones. The rest, as they say, is history. Humans are still hesitant to send ships to or near the Bones, as the Dragons (and more importantly, their intentions) still remain heavily shrouded in mystery.
Internal & Foreign Relations
Though little is known about the Dragons or their home, rumors being whispered far and wide tell that the Dragons are associating themselves with the Gamlonians. As any mildly-seasoned Avalonnic soldier can tell you, they are constantly looking over their shoulders in fear of the Dragons, and many simply flee at the first sight of one.
