The group took a hard look around at the carange that had been caused in the monastery. Though many dwarves had been slain, their killers had been slain to rest beside them. After a quick discussion, it was decided it would be best to take an extended rest to plan their next move. They moved into the courtyard where the bonfires were so they could keep warm in the winter air.

Into the Mountains

The group of heroes gathered in the morning to set out on their journey to the city of Overlook near the Stonehome Mountains. A quick discussion about how to travel there resulted in getting some horses from Troyas and then setting out on their three day journey. The trip was hassel free thanks to the heavily traveled road though cold due to the winter weather. Soon the group had arrived at the large and well established city of Overlook.

Castle Rivenroar Finale

The group recovered from their last encounter and had a short debate on whether or not they should continue or rest. Ultimately Burn voiced his opinion the loudest the the group pressed onward into the next room. Amara led the way and listened at the door for any sounds of movement or talking but heard nothing. After she was certain the door was not trapped, she opened the door to reveal a large room with two large rage drakes and an older woman trapped inside a magical circle of glowing blue runes. As she noticed the group entering the room, she began to yell at them to free her.

Castle Rivenroar IV

Amara gave a sigh of relief as the worn down and old castle Rivenroar finally came into view. She thanked the half elf guide who simply nodded and turned to head back to town. The rogue stepped up to the crumbling walls and looked down the passageway to the dungeon levels of the castle. She could tell she was at the right spot by the body of a frozen goblinoid sprawled on the stairs. Gathering her wits she headed down into the main entry way where she found more bodies that were several days old.

Castle Rivenroar III

After finishing their much needed rest, the group went over their directions once more with the dwarf so make sure they knew where to go next. The fighter volunteered to stay behind so that he couple protect the dwarf and the other prisoners that were rescued.

Castle Rivenroar II

After a quick rest, the group of adventurers decided to press onward, deeper into the dungeon. Taking the east door, Hafgan quietly made his way down the cool, dark hallway where he came upon a large room with a large magical tapestry which depicted the image of a floating dark castle in a plain of bones. Hafgan inspected the area and found no lurking monster and so he called the rest of the group into the room so they could inspect the tapestry further. As they began to inspect the tapestry further, a ochre jelly launched out from the magical tapestry and attacked.

Castle Rivenroar I

With the ogre defeated, the group quickly went back to work, helping put out fires across the town. The goblinoids made one last threat at the northern bridge though when the group of adventurers arrived, they made a quick escape. Confident that the fighting was all over, they worked into the night to get the damage under control.

In the morning, the group received a free breakfast from the innkeeper as a thanks to the help from last evening. As the group ate, a young lad entered into the inn and made his way over to the group. He thanked the heroes for their help last night and stated that his father wanted to see the group to talk business about the raid from last night. The group agreed and shortly thereafter made their way to the mansion of Troyas.

Brindol and Karma

Our adventure begins with our new founded heroes at a tavern called the Musty Minotaur within the City of Splendors, Waterdeep. All but two of the group were family, however all them were growing tired of the lack of work that was becoming increasingly common among the taverns, guilds, and inns throughout Waterdeep. As luck would have it, a poster from the Adventurer’s Guild posted several fliers up at the tavern before leaving.

The group was quick to retrieve the postings; Burn went as far to lift a piece with magic. Reviewing it over they found several pieces of information. The first was a request for people to investigate a number of Scimitar Trading Company shipments that had not arrived from the Moonshae Isles. Captain Gastel was offering to pay 50 gold per person for information leading to the retrieval of his goods. The second was from a nobleman looking for bodyguards on a trip towards Baldur’s Gate. The third was for an art bazaar that would be taking place the following day in the market.

The group discussed the prospect of the six of them joining together to complete an adventure, with everyone in quick agreement. Deciding on the request from the Scimitar Trading Company, Burn and Rayan headed down to the docks to speak with the company. The rest of the group split up to get ready for the adventure.

  • Zhentil Keep wins a naval battle against Mulmaster and Melvaunt.
  • A second Thayan army of zombies invades Rashemen but is turned back.
  • The Salamander War: The Red Wizards of Thay open a gate to the Elemental Plane of Fire and begin a campaign against the North Coast cities of Escalant, Murbant, and Thasselen.
  • A tribe of kobolds takes up residence in the Maiden’s Tomb Tor, unnoticed by Waterdeep.
  • Lady Alustriel forges an alliance with Bruenor Battlehammer of Mithril Hall and helps defend the dwarf halls against the drow of House Baenre.
  • During the months of Flamerule, Eleasias, and Eleint, the Night Masks battle the Shore Patrol for control of Westgate’s criminal underworld. Adventurers, hired by the city’s merchant nobility as bounty hunters, deliver a sharp check to the ambitions of the Night Masks. Their efforts thwart a plot by the ruling Pentad of Night Masters to transform Westgate into a theocracy of Mask, the Shadowlord.
  • Khelban Blackstaff frees Silverhand from Myrkul’s evil influence. He returns to Waterdeep with her to help her heal
  • Haverstrom Lhal, husband of Myrmeen Lhal of Arabel, dies.
  • Alias and Dragonbait track down the makers of the Azure Bonds. In the process, they destroy the evil magician Cassandra of Westgate, the lich Xrie Praxis, the Fire Knives guild, and the fiend Phalse, and they ban the god of decay Moander from Faerûn. The Fire Knives move to Westgate and base their organization at Castle Cormaeril.
  • Shandril Shessair kills a dracolich of the Cult of the Dragon. The Sembian Cult of the Dragon cell also suffers, as Shandril costs the cell three dracoliches (Shargrailar the Dark, Rauglothor the Proud, and Aghazstamn) and two Wearers of Purple.
  • Shandril Shessair kills a clone of Manshoon, collapses Irondrake Rock, slays the lichnee Iliph Thraun and does heavy damage to Zhentil Keep and the Citadel of the Raven with spellfire
