Three hundred years ago, a great plague of unknown origin swept through Oerth. From all accounts, all from word of mouth, the great city of Greyhawk was the first place affected. It affected users of magic, divine or arcane, rendering them mad after only a few short hours of infection. Their power would become immense and destructive and eventually they would burn out in a massive ball of energy.
