>>"Dallas, 28 to 29 April 2012:" Sometime after the murder of Sheriff Doug Powell, members of various supernatural factions in the city had encountered strange creatures, fought mysterious martial artists, and rescued women from a cultist of Mammon and Ogre moonshiners.
After discussing their various leads, Jose Garrido and Errol Sternglass go to the mansion of J.D. Baines. The eccentric oil magnate mistakes hoodlum Jose for Errol’s manservant. In return for a sample of “mushroom juice,” a rare intoxicant obtained from the Ogre’s distillery, Baines shares what he knows about the cult of Mammon.
The demon of greed apparently expects regular sacrifices in return for continued prosperity for city leaders, and the missing Dallas copy of the Unseelie Accords allows for them, Baines says. He also tells Errol and Jose that Dean Singer, an attorney at the local branch of Wolfram & Hart, should know more.
Meanwhile, guardian Bella contacts Sebastian Powell, the d’bag son of the late sheriff and the boyfriend of Bonnie, one of the women rescued from cultist Ara Sainai. Bella, Dani Chavez, and Sam A. Jackson meet him at a nearby Hooters. Feminist Dani is disgusted by the scantily clad waitresses, including Larissa.
Sebastian is wary of “The Stranger,” whom he recognizes from an earlier scuffle in a graveyard. Dani asks about what he knows about the cult of Mammon. Sebastian says that he believes that he should have immunity because of his ties to the Unseelie Court, but Dani points out that Ara had no problem kidnapping Bonnie.
After some prodding, Sebastian tells Dani, Bella, and Sam about Mama Widdershins, proprietor of the Essex Street Apothecary. He then makes a hasty retreat. After paying for dinner, the group goes to the herbal shop, which is on the edge of a trendy neighborhood.
Sam is surprised to find that he and Widdershins knew each other decades ago! Dani is pleased to not be the center of relationship tension for once. Widdershins confirms that Mayor Lord Farnsworth III is the leader of the cult of Mammon. She lets long-lived Sam consult her copy of the treaty, which states that only Queen Mab or the sheriff can appoint a successor.
Since no new knight of the Winter Court has appeared, the various mystical factions of Dallas have begun to struggle for power, Bella theorizes. Widdershins tells Dani that she can convene a Wiccan circle to cast a spell of Unmaking on the wards around the sheriff or half-demon mayor’s office.
That night, Michael James, Errol, and Orion all have a strange shared dream. They see strange neoclassical symbols and an orgy, but are unsure if they’re a temptation or a warning.
The next morning, Errol and Orion pretend that they want to retain Singer’s legal services to get an appointment at Wolfram & Hart’s offices. The petrolmancer drops J.D. Baines’ name, while the curious councilman looks at a skull and dagger on a shelf.
Singer agrees to help the duo and invites them to join him for dinner later at L’Auberge, a fancy steakhouse. Errol then takes his Cadillac to rejoin the others at the apothecary.
Dani and Michael want to break into either the sheriff or the mayor’s office to find the missing master copy of Dallas’ supernatural treaty. Sam says he is always ready to shoot any monsters or kickboxers as needed. Bella would prefer to rest with her family.
Jose contacts his fellow gang members and returns home to make fresh salsa with the ingredients he bought from Mama Widdershins. Sam consults Thomas Russell, a.k.a. the “Big Kahuna,” about the council’s stance. Errol and Orion go to their dinner date.
Singer surprises them by bringing the mayor to join them! Errol cites his natural avariciousness, and Farnsworth grants him provisional entry into the cult in return for access to Baines’ warehouse of occult memorabilia.
Jose poses as a waiter, using the fact that his friend Selina’s cousin Marco owed him a favor for some past illicit deals. Agent James watches discreetly from the bar, while Bella waits outside, sniffing for evil. Dani and Sam continue to study the Unseelie Accords back at the herbalist shop.
Politician Orion takes a direct approach, saying that he knows something big is going down tomorrow, the same day as the Big Valley Martial Arts Tournament. Farnsworth is unfazed and counters with a plea of ignorance and a request for the werebear to renounce his status as a Champion of Gaia.
As the negotiations stall, Errol reveals the relic he got from Baines a few days previous — a magical sword! The bold mage brandishes the holy weapon before tossing it to Jose, who is more familiar with hand weapons.
The mayor reveals his true form, that of a winged demon, and breathes fire. The other patrons of the restaurant flee in panic. Bella shifts into foo dog form, charges in, and bites the infernal beast’s tail. Mike draws his service pistol and fires, to no avail.
Mighty Orion changes to bear form and swipes at Farnsworth before ducking behind the bar to telephone Dani and Sam. The Stranger summons his shadowy steed and opens a dark portal so that he and Dani can rejoin their companions.
Singed Errol tosses the sword to Jose, who is more tries to tackle the malevolent mayor, as Dani tries to find a weak spot based on her artistic training. Jose quotes televangelist Rev. Godfried Faust and slashes at Farnsworth.
The Stranger’s hellfire bullets injure the winged demon, and he shapes more darkness to muzzle the mayor before he completely incinerates the dining room and those within it. Lycanthropes Bella, Michael, and Orion close in with claws, as Dani, Errol, and Jose deal with wounds.
Orion eventually eviscerates the hellspawn, and the group retreats before other authorities arrive. Agent James later has the Special Investigations Group circulate a story about a gas leak, hallucinations, and an explosion to the news media.
After that, the heroes heal up in time to resume their search for the Dallas copy of the Unseelie Accord, prevent a supernatural gang war, and face down more foes at the martial arts tourney….
Let me know if you’ll post the notes for the last three sessions of your game or if you want me to do so. Later, -Gene
