Upon arriving at the inn the party booked rooms and stayed the night. The next morning Amathy took Arthus down the the river to procure a bath (little ones can get so smelly). While bathing they came upon a man who was also making use of the river. Amathy learned his name was Wulfsted and he was also traveling south with his small band of adventures. Soon after meeting the rest of the party, they all decided to travel together toward Fort Rotterhelm,
The route they took went through large fields of tall grass. The parties were getting to know one another along the way. They learned from his companions that Wulfsted was on a quest, to find the birthplace of the Gods and they were accompanying him on his mission. They had explored ruins in the area, and felt they were on the right track. The adventurers were suddenly attacked by large insect like creatures bursting forth from the ground. The fight was fierce and many of the companions were wounded defeating the monsters later identified by Wulfsted as Ankhegs. The fight was ended by Arthus jumping from the wagon onto an Ankheg and frantically stabbing it repeatedly with his dagger until it was dead.
Strange sight greeted the travelers along the rest of the route. They saw a stampede of very large heavy armored lizards being chased by barbaric halflings and flying lizards being ridden by smaller yet similar lizard-man like creatures were the most noteworthy encounters. Bruised, battered and beaten the adventurers finally arrived at the Mouth of the Blossom Inn.
The group continued on to Havenwood. Passing a small funeral procession headed to a small graveyard as they came into town. Upon arriving they sought out a person who could direct them to the uncle of Arthus’. They found it surprising that the primary fortification of the town were made solely of wood with very little stone to be found. Salis seemed very excited over the prospect of finding gainful employment helping to stack the wood being used in construction. Inquiring with a soldier, the party was directed to Johann, the proprietor of Maclinberg shipping, whom they were told would be able to help them with Arthus.
Meeting with Johann the party learned that Brelen Lindon, the uncle of Arthus, was currently located to the south at Fort Rotterhelm. Coincidentally, Johann had a shipment he needed to be delivered to the fort. He hired the party to take the shipment, on a cart, and after equipping them sent them on their way.
The first town they were to encounter was Twin peaks. The journey was slow going with the cart only holding a driver and Arthus, with the rest of the party on foot. When arriving near Twin Peaks the group noted small creatures up ahead behind rocks. Allara and Amathy recognized them as Kobolds planning an ambush. The two ladies had to sneak around them to spoil their ambush. The party dispatched most of the Kobolds quickly, and then as the final kobold was fleeing he was slain by an unfamiliar black arrow. As they looked up the mountain they saw an arachnae slipping away from the mountain top. They were left to ponder this as the party continued on without event to the inn at Twin Peaks.
Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!
While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!
The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!
Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.
One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.
