Dalathan studdied Winter Haven carefully, walking about it slowly and considering its uses. The space could be used for many things, and it would expedite research or forgeing but not enough to make a substantial difference in what needed to get done.
he sat with the group near the gate of their keep and looked over the map. a simple piece of parchment with what appeared to be a ahnd drawn map of Argyle. scanning it he quickly found the continenent and then the two little red dots, one labled KEY 1 and the other labeled Gate 1. Dalathan ran his hand through his hair as he looked at the scope of what they were talking about undertaking.
“Seven Gates is what you said Raven?” Raven nodded in response, the half drow continued “the map may only show us one gate or key at a time, and judging by the scale, the map will put us within a few miles of the key, but it less it changes as we appraoch this could be a significant task.” he unrolled the map on the ground as the party huddled about it. “The First key is being shown as here” he pointed to the red dot “north of the Spine… well north of the spine in the frozen wastes, I’ve never ventured that far myself… have you Vavel?” all eyes turned to the guild wizard who meerly shook his head no, Dalthan turned back to the Map “I have been to teh bottom of the Cliffs of Craigmoor, just past North Umberland, we could teleport there, or we could try our luck with Caliber Keep which is a little further North, but also puts us on a path through undead infested territories and the Necromites school, both places that I would recomend avoiding. Cliffs, or Caliber we are still left without a gurenteed a clear path through the mountains once we reach them. This is promblematic”
there was a long silence as everyone studdied over the maps, Vavel spoke next
“I’ve been to the Coast of Twin Port before, we could sail North until the ice flows and then travel the coast past the mountains before cutting inland, longer in distance but a sure path… we could also risk blind teleports based on locals knowlege and pictures, but when it comes to the Spine and Mountain travel that could get dangerous and some could be killed.”
the converstation exploded into many smaller ones, the Wizards discussed the marets of blind telports and how feezable it was, Salar and Jade spoke of ships and how they might fare against the Ice Flows, Raven spoke of his need to forge and craft, vs the party needing him in on the quest, Fox spoke of the bridge and it’s need for defense vs the artifacts being retireved quickly and brought for the defense of the bridge, minutes ticked to hours, as many great points were made on many sides. finally it came forward as such
Dalathan Spoke first “I am going for the key, I think our time is limited, and removing the power from the clerics and knights who are against us is our best bet at winning over the bridge. If we are traveling together then I will follow the advice and wisdom of the group in plotting our course, if I am to go alone then I will try my luck at the cliffs and work my way from there.”
Ura Mathe had long since fallen asleep, and thus did not way in, Mae Nous stretched as she spoke, I will follow the wisdom of the Lisanne, noramlly I would just fly over the mountains, but what ever course she chooses is one I will follow on"
The next to decide their course was…
