Betrayal
The King is Dead and the adventures have ended up taking shelter in an old thieves den. The Butcher, Emperor Daniel Kilat, has now taken the throne and begun his campaign to “unite the world”. Many lives hang upon the scales of justice as the adventures try to figure out what is going on. They have taken up refuge in an old thieves den. Their leader Shepard assures them it will be okay if they take refuge here. He offers to to take first watch as Remoatius who took the full force of the spell slowly begins to recover. Morena Gordon and Sa’ida take this opportunity to quickly fall asleep!

Sometime during the night, three unknown assailants slipped past Shepard’s defense and quickly subdued him. Using great stealth and a hint of magic they Kidnap the wanted Shepard leaving his companions unaware of his absence. Remoatius is the first to arise after his rest. After a few hours he decides to investigate that his traveling companion is missing. He finds some footprints and then sits and decides to make sure that the others are still with him. Disturbed by his speaking Sa’ida grumbles at Remoatius so he goes and contemplates what has happened to Shepard. Eventually he comes to the conclusion that Shepard has been abducted by slavers!

Morena scries him out and hears someone singing a song about all the money they are going to make off of the bounty.

The leave and head to western gate. Morena tricks guard into seeing dead people. Guard freaks out, other guard leaves to get captain. They sneak out.

Head back to tree. investigate tree. Grab staff – shoots fireball into space. Shoot web at morena. Leave note. Get response. Trade a few more notes. Staff is sentient. Doesn’t like frank. They arrive in the city. Offered free tours. Offered expensive tours. They settle on a free tour with a shady elf that offers to show them the entrance of the Elemental Citadel.
