Guile (Guy-ill) is a friendly, graceful, and kind deity. He is fickle, but playful, never vengeful of malicious, and always able to turn something to his advantage. He enjoys jokes and has been known to play them on some of the more rigid deities (such as Conquest), but always finds a way to soothe hard feelings.
Shrines and temples to Guile are spread across the lands. His church is popular in cities and frequented by adventurers, and such people fill its coffers in exchange for healing, making the temple quite wealthy. This wealth allows the temple a great deal of independence. The church encourages people to take chances and pursue their dreams rather then spending all their days planning and daring nothing. The church is duty-bound to aid those who have dared by providing them with healing and sometimes minor magic items (sometimes surreptitiously) to reinforce good fortune that comes with the trust in Guile.
Clerics of Guile pray for their spells in the morning. The church has only one ritual common to all temples. A festival at Richfest involves a night-long revel of daring acts, & romantic trysts.
History/Relationships: Guile is an charming, friendly deity. Most deities enjoy his company, and find it difficult to hold a grudge against for long.
Dogma: One should be so bold, for bold is to live. A brave heart and a willingness to take risks beat out a carefully wrought plan nine time out of ten. Place yourself in the hands of fate and trust your own luck. Bear and conduct yourselves as your own masters, showing your good and bad fortune as confidence in the lord. Chase your on unique goals, and the Lord aids the chase.
