3rd and 4th of Nolus, 721

The feast breaks up and Hafyn and Aranraë L’anë are engaged in a brief discussion with Baron Sir Churus Londel the Baron of Yeged. The Baron was the foster of Lady Brydget Curo and trained her to be a knight. He seems to be somewhat of a romantic with a keen interest in all things Jarin. He heard that they were introduced as being ‘of the North’ and heard them speaking Jarinese with the Earl and wanted to know more about them. Hafyn and Aranrae remain polite but vague.

The next morning Lady Brydget is knighter and the joust begins. There are 32 total jousters. Sir Mandrin of Tonelis and Lady Brydget easily defeat their first opponents. Mandrin likewise moves through the second round, but Brydget falls out of the tournament when she is thrown from her horse. During the round of 8, Mandrin advances when his opponent is unhorsed and lands heavily on his back. He appears to be gravely hurt with broken ribs.

Meanwhile, Hafyn does well enough in the archery tournament to advance to the finals the next day. He is initially mocked for using such a small seeming bow, but quickly silences his detractors with some sharp shooting.

Hafyn and Aranrae melt into the forest for the night. On the way they meet a knight wearing the regalia of the Brotehrhood. His name is Sir Taran Ulris and he is returning to his manor after falling in the round of 8. They discuss some things of interest.

During the feast Sir Mandrin extends and invitation to Brydget to join the Order of the Lady of Paladins. The Earl asks her to consider the offer. She wishes to sleep on it and announce her decision the following day.

Sir Mandrin prevails in the joust. The final bout resolved on foot after they are tied after three passes. He is declared champion, wins a purse of 5 pounds and a high quality shield. He donates 2 pounds to the knight he injured.

Hafyn is edged out in the final round of the archery tournament and comes in second place. He is rewarded 1/2 a pound in prize money.

At the feast Lady Brydget agrees to join the order. The Earl suggests that Hafyn travels with them south, and suggests a stay in Erone Abbey as they all travel south, since Hafyn and Aranrae have business there. They leave south the next morning for Erone Abbey, en route to Nebulan.
