Knights of The Old Republic

Episode 70

Back on Coruscant Kip Gilto is interrogated by Jedi Master Doe-Nar. The masters make several strenuous attempts to separate Kip from the darkness with in, but to no success. Master Andor tells Leeloo and Corraun that they have never seen anything like what is happening to Kip, but he is too dangerous to live. In two days Kip will be executed. Leeloo breaks the bad news to Eva, who gets permission to speak with Kip one last time. She tries to convince him to fight the darkness with in and tell Leeloo how to find Redora, but Kip lures her closer to him and tries to break her neck.

Knights Revan and Alek Squint approached a frustrated Leeloo and saddened Corraun. They know of a very long shot that could save Kip, although Alek gives the impression that Revan doesn’t believe fallen Jedi deserve a second chance, but will help if it leads to Redora’s capture. In Knight Varsin’s journal it mentions a tribal history of the planet Arbra where the previous inhabitants found a way to physically separate their base emotions of fear, anger & hate. The council would never allow this investigated now since the Mando’s have claimed that sector of space. Revan offers to break out Kip and get him on a transport for Corraun and Leeloo to take him to the Moon of Arbra and learn more from the natives, but they can’t take the senators. Leeloo breaks the news covertly to Eva Cana and they wait at the star port with The Rogue Star. Revan lives up to his word and breaks out Kip and arranges for Padawan Iario to join them as a guide on the moon.

Iario immediately rubs Leeloo the wrong way. Alone with Kip Leeloo strikes a deal with him, his freedom for information on Redora’s location. When they arrive out of hyperspace at the moon they’re confronted with a Mando blockade. They attempt a blitz run in between two Jehavey assault ships. Iario navigates a course just outside of their turbo-laser range. Two squadrons of Devaab fighters are released. They quickly over take the slower transport and engage in a swarming dog-fight. Forced with a difficult decision Corraun releases Kip from his bonds to man a turret. Iario and Kip take out four of the 16 fighters while Corraun desperately tries to maintain shield integrity and Leeloo pilots. Finally with orders from the command ship each fighter in unison firers their concussion missile at the Rogue Star. Leeloo attempts a barrel roll, but the ship is two clunky. Corraun keeps the particle shields up much longer then they should, but the salvo is too much. The shock waves from the detonations toss the crew around inside and into unconsciousness. They awake crash landed on the Moon of Arbra. The ship is heavily damaged, but repairable given enough time.

Leeloo is visibly depressed after having what in her eyes is a second back to back failure as a pilot. They conceal The Rogue Star and attempt to get to higher ground. One a mountain ridge they wait till morning when visibility is improved. The night cycle on this moon is only six hours and when the full dawn arrives Iraio spots a path to the Nel-Dobba tribe he had visited before. After a day’s travel they arrive at the Nel-Dobba village. A young native woman named Key’sa recognizes Iario and mistakes Leeloo has her twin sister Minai. They are allowed into the village and met up with another friend of Iario, a young warrior named Tur’sa. They are taken into the elder burbolsa where the tribe is meeting to discuss the masked stone warriors aka the Mandolarians.

Iario warns the Chief on the very real danger of the Mandos. The heroes learn of attacks on the natives to the east. Post meeting they explain to the chief why they came. He allows them access to the written history carved into the petrified burbolsa. They learn a little over 25,000 years ago the ancestors of the Nel-dobba people lived on the forest planet Arbra. They shared the world with a kind and benevolent race which cared for them. The Arbrans were artists and inventors and possessed special abilities. They could communicate mind to mind and move large objects without their hands. They lived together in harmony. The only warning they had was to stay away from the young. The young Arbran’s were dangerous and often cruel until they entered and went through the cleansing. Afterwards they would return to society free of the weaker emotions of fear, anger and hate.

All was well until a great disaster struck. Terrible screams shrieked through the night, the Arbran’s quickly gathered as many Nel-dobba people as possible and placed them on skycrafts which took them to this moon. The people were let out, and they ships left never to return again. For many years when the moon would near Arbra the people would gather and wait for their return, but they never did and now has changed into the Low-Moon celebration.

The chief explains that the eastern tribes are older and have more written history. Key’sa and Tur’sa offer to take the off worlders to the Great Eastern tribe. Sek’nos, demands to go as well to represent their tribe in a Great War council. The injured are cared for overnight and Leeloo promises to teach Key’sa how to fight.

They set out next morning riding two –legged mounts called Dune-tar, Corraun has some difficulty controlling his mount. Half way there they are spotted by a mando Shaadlar ship and attacked by six Neo-Crusaders. Cal’ba and O’low are killed in the battle, but Sek’nos proves to be a formidable warrior with his Nel-Dobba spear. Leeloo cuts lose Kip’s bounds who then unleashes darkside fueled force lightning on the Mandos, dropping one after another and relishing in their pain and fear. With the last Mando dead Corraun still holding his ignited saber gives another pair of manacles to Kip to wear. After a tense moment Kip surrenders himself to bondage once more. They quickly move on before more patrols arrive. By nightfall they reach the great eastern tribe village.

End of session.

Episode 69

April 08, 2013 23:44

After a few hours of search and rescue operations the heroes save the few survivors of the mine’s collapse and return sullenly to Anchorhead. . Kip and the sand peoples’ use of explosives in the mine gives weight to the threat of razing Anchorhead to the ground. Lt. Calway reviews shipment manifests of what was thought to be destroyed materials from previous raids and concludes it’s possible that they would have enough ordinance to destroy most of Anchorhead. The desert guide Massiff states that by their robes and gaffi sticks he knows which tribe is under Kip’s influence.

The heroes discuss what they witnessed happen to Kip when he tried to break free of the hold of the darkside. Galen has never seen or heard of anything like it. Knight Neros sets a priority of recovering the Sith Holocron, destroying the stolen ordinance, and capturing Kip to take to the Masters so they can examine him. Galen and Leo see to the city’s defenses while the others heal up.

After a day in a Kolto tank Leeloo is taken out by Eva, who gives an apology to Leeloo and for endangering everyone in the mine and she questions if she should even be out here. Leeloo reassures her.

After two days of recovery the heroes along with Massiff prepare for an assault on the sand people village. Lt. Calway going against the direction of the Viceroy arranges for 20 Czerka volunteer troopers to accompany them. Knight Neros and Tyan try and persuade Eva not to go, but with Leeloo’s help she decides to go, for Kip’s sake.

Meanwhile Kip is completely consumed with activating the Sith Holocron. After great effort he manages to activate it and discovers it belonged to the Sith Lord Magus whom was buried in the holy well. Kip pledges fidelity to the Sith Lord in exchange for knowledge and power. Over time Kip asks for information on the Pool of Stars, but is told he is not ready for that level of power.

At the village they split into two teams. Team 1 lead by Leo and Tyan will assault the main gate, giving a distraction for Galen, Corraun, Leeloo, Massiff and Eva to travel down the mountain that the village butts up against, so they can sneak into main hut and steal back the Holocron and subdue Kip if possible.

Leo and Tyan begin the assault trying to protect two troops with enough explosives to blow open the Krayt dragon bone gates. The wall sentries drop several troopers before they reach the gate. Once there a group of sand people and a Bantha spring forth an ambush breaking their ranks. Czerka troops drop the massive beast and set the timer for the explosives, but not without casualties. The explosives not only take out the gate and a good size section of the gate, but a dozen Sand people warriors waiting on the other side. The warlord leads a charge against the invaders atop a Bantha. Leopold leaps atop the Bantha and with his trusty light foil wounds the warlord. The Czerka troopers drop several more warriors forcing the warlord into the cave housing the stolen explosives. Leo, Tyan and the remaining troops run in after them.

Team 2 reaches the main hut without being detected. Once inside they quickly dispatch a few warriors and reptile guard hounds called Massiffs. Unfortunately their desert guide Massiff takes a near fatal shot from a cycler rifle. Team 1 enters the cave to fine seven warriors entrenched. It costs the lives of the remaining Czerka troopers but Leopold and Tyan destroy the last of the guards and venture cautiously deeper into the cave.

Team 2 reaches the inner sanctum to find Kip and two sand people awaiting their arrival. Galen gives Kip another chance to surrender, but it’s refused. Corraun moves in to strike down Kip, but is defended by his faithful guard. Kip unleashes a powerful display of darkside energy consuming the air with negative emotions of fear causing the young force users to be distracted. Kip releases force lighting from his fingertips at Corraun nearly bringing him to his knees. Leeloo tries to help, but her emotions get the best of her. Galen drops one of the guards and Kip forces angry onto everyone. This sends Corraun into a frenzy and he’ll stop at nothing to kill Kip.

Leo and Tyan reach the end of the cave and find a mountain of Czerka explosives guarded by the injured Warlord. Unable to fire and risk hitting the explosives Tyan retreats to find a melee weapon, leaving Leopold on his own. Leopold engages the warlod Light foil vs. poison tipped gaffi-stick. The two trained combatants exchange blows, but the ferocious Warlord lands a powerful strike felling the already severely wounded Leopold to his knees. Tyan returns just in time to witness a seemly fatal death strike to Leopold.

Galen tries to calm Corraun as Kip continues to taunt him. Any chance to pull Corraun out of his rage is obliterated when Kip nearly fries both Eva and Leeloo with his force lightning. Galen after dropping the last guard manages to hold Kip with the force. Leeloo cuts apart his twin light sabers leaving him defenseless, Corraun advances with hate in his eyes. Leeloo does the unthinkable and blocks a killing blow from Corraun to save Kip’s life and begins to berate Corraun, the hate in the room fueling her emotions. Eva steps up to Kip and point blanks blasts him with her stun gun. With the immediate threat from Kip extinguished and with the hurtful words from Leeloo still ringing in his ears, Corraun shuts off his saber and walks away.

Tyan does his best against the warlord, but the battle is ended quickly with the young senator unconscious and bleeding out at the feet of the tribes’ champion. To Tyan’s good fortune Corraun enters the cave and seeing the carnage calls out for Tyan and Leo. The warlord sinks into the shadows. Corraun turns the corner and runs to Tyan’s aide and stops the bleeding, but gives the warlord the element of surprise on Corraun. His gaff-stick bites into Corraun’s flesh followed by the horrid pain of the sandbat venom. Corraun calls on the force to empower his body and rises to his feet. The two skilled combatants go at each other, but the warlord makes a fatal mistake trying to block the light saber with his gaffi-stick, Corraun’s blade cuts through it and lands a mortal blow. The sole surviving Czerka soldier gets to his feet and helps carry Leo out of the cave. The rest of team 2 meets up with them, Kip is bound and laid over Galen’s shoulder. Corraun rigged the ordinance and with a massive explosion the cave collapses and the treat to Anchorhead is no more.

Back at Anchorhead Tyan and Leopold are treated and Lt. Calway having to explain why 19 of 20 soldiers are dead is fired. Once well enough to travel they board The Rogue Star and set forth to Coruscant.

End of session.

Episode 68

March 19, 2013 16:55

On Procopia in the Tapani Sector Jedi Master Shi Leer received a holo from Corraun Jax sharing the recent events and feeling a bit lost Corraun asks for help. With embers of the Mecrosa Order still burning Shi Leer can’t leave to help, but will do what he can. After the holo shuts off Leopold Weschler apologizes for over hearing. Back on Coruscant Tyan meets with Senator Bol’garn and shares his disappointment with the Jedi’s handing of the situation so far. Tyan recommends Bol’garn demand the order assign more Jedi.

Master Andor speaking with Leeloo about the loss of Knight Xergo and share a moment in his honor. Andor shares that based on a report from Tyan the senate has been getting more involved in this business, which is out of their understanding, but with the loss of Xergo the High Council will assign additional Knights to investigate each hyperspace stop, but Andor cannot promise their help for long as the duties of peacekeeping for a galaxy is taxing on man-power. Leeloo will go to Tattoonie to follow up on that lead along with the council’s original choice to handle Kip Gilto, Knight Galen Neros.

Later that day Corraun finds Leeloo in the temples guest quarters. Leeloo explains how she had lost all hope on the Wrecker’s moon while being tortured. It seems everyone who has cared about Leeloo is gone or dead and she tires of living on a razor’s edge. Corraun feeling unable to share his feelings verbally, kisses Leeloo.

The next morning Leeloo meets Knight Neros at the star port and he sets the ground rules of their partnership. Inside the port is Tyan Duna and his entourage. Tension seems to form almost instantly between Tyan and Galen. Their transport arrives and stepping out is Corraun Jax and Eva Cana. She introduces The Rogue Star, a large transport on loan from her father. Corraun explains to Galen that Eva has chosen to accompany them and she would not be persuaded otherwise.

On the way to Tattoonie Eva speaks with Leeloo about what to do with Kip when they find him. Eva believes they must try to save Kip at any cost and Leeloo tries to explain that Kip is already gone. They agree to continue to champion their own positions, but not to work against each other. During the travel Corraun and Leeloo are able to speak further about her kiss on the Wrecker’s moon and Corraun’s at the temple. Corraun explains that when she was gone on Dathomir that he realized fully what he had lost.

On Tattoonie in the city of Anchorhead they’re all surprised to see Leopold waiting for them. He explains that he practically begged Master Shi Leer to allow him to help Corraun and Kip in their time of need, since they had helped him so much on Tapani. Exiting the star port they see a large amount of Czerka corp. security forces and learn that Czerka’s mining operations have been attacked repeatedly by the native sand people and it’s grown much worse in the last month.

An alarm sounds and the heroes follow it to a Czerka command building and learn of a massacre inside. They met the newly acting security chef Lt. Cort Calway. Using a mind link technique Galen connects Leeloo, Corraun and himself together in a waking meditative state. Using Leeloo’s tracking, Corraun’s tactics and Galen deduction they share a vision of what happened less than an hour ago. A force user likely Kip entered with two sand people and killed nearly everyone in the building. The only exceptions were Viceroy Ebb Vang and his protector Lt. Calway who got them behind a blast door in time. With a lightsaber the door was almost breached when Kip’s attention was captured by a box on a nearby lab table. The attacker took the box and destroyed the terminal of data on it, then left.

Corraun shares his theory that Kip is the one who attack this building and is likely behind the recent increase in attacks against Czerka trying to lure the Viceroy to this planet to kill him for what happened on Fel-Tide. The only mystery is what was in the box that was so interesting that he would give up a minute away from completing the plan he had been working on for a month. Calway says that it’ll take some time to find the backup information on what was in the box. In the meanwhile Galen wants to learn more about the natives and is told the local expert is called Massiff and was actually born to the sand people, but because of a deformity he was left to die in the wastes. He was found and raised by moisture farmers. The next day they find Massiff in an Anchorhead cantina. He tells of rumors about a young god returning and the spirit of vengeance. Galen explains he thinks this spirit of vengeance is likely an off worlder with his own agenda and asks for Massiff’s aide; along with a fee he agrees.

They return to Czerka when the information on the box is located. The item taken was a strange triangle found during mining in the Jundland wastes, Massiff says that location is a Holy Well. Galen seems quiet, but agrees that Kip will target that mining site next. They arrange secret transport to the mine, traveling in a supply speeder. Along the way they are ambushed by Sand People and a Bantha, which nearly destroys their speeder. Leeloo commands the Bantha to attack its masters while Corraun draws fire away from the speeder. Concerned that they’re being watched no one uses a light saber. Corraun is shot by a thunderous cycler rifle, but manages to kill one raider with his own Gaffi stick and knock out another. Between Leo, Tyan, Massiff and Galen the remaining Raiders are killed. Corraun brings back the unconscious one, but before anyone can prevent it Massiff kills him. Galen chastises Massiff, but he shrugs the reproach off.

They walk the rest of the way to the Holy Well mine, along the way Massiff tells that legends say many thousands of years ago Tattoonie had giant oceans and jungles, but “The Old Gods” also referred to as “The Destroyers” had bombed the planet reducing it to glass and the glass has now turned into sand.

Once at the mine they met the foremen Ukram Waine who shows them around the mine. He further explains that Czerka has told him to mine out the rest of the area where the artifact was found since now it appears to be important. Leeloo and Massiff think the entire mine should be buried, but Corraun and Galen agree this is the best bait to draw Kip out. They mine into a nearby cavity and discover a burial chamber. There is a symbol on the floor, but it is obscured by rubble from a partial cave in. Along the walls are 60 or so burial shelves with mummified corpses.

Massiff translates old Sand People script on the upper walls. A series of circles and lines representing a number of cycling of the twin suns. This represents a date around 1,000 years ago. Falling stars landing on Tattoonie, these stars have faces and are called “The Young/New Gods” afraid they would be like the ancient “Destroyers” the people fought, but were nothing against the Young Gods’ power. The Young Gods’ searched for many years for something called The Star Pool. One by one over many years the Young Gods’ turned on one another until only two remained. Believing one had found the Star Pool, but kept it a secret, led to a vicious duel. The victor was gravely wounded from the battle and eventually died taking the secret location with him and was entombed here.

Galen has the miners start to clear the rubble from the floor symbol and he guesses at what’s underneath. He is proved correct, it a symbol of the Sith Empire. The 1,000 years ago makes sense that was during the Great Hyperspace War. The Sith were crushed, but a ship or two could have gotten away and landed on Tattoonie. The 12 Young gods must have been Sith Lords. As Galen suspected back in Anchorhead the object Kip took was half of a Sith Holocron. That knowledge in Kip’s hands could be devastating.

Galen goes to the top of the mine and will cloak himself and wait for Kip. While the rest remain in the tomb searching for the Sith holocron piece. Sometime later they hear sand people cyclers firing from inside the tunnels. Before they can block the chamber entrance the Sand people rush into. A few moments later enters Kip Gilto and two Sand personal guards. He says, “You should not have crossed my path, for my quarrel is not with you.”

Corraun and Eva try and reason with Kip to stop this, but Kip warns them to stay out of his way. Leeloo leaps to attack Kip and she is blocked by his twin red bladed light sabers. Kip commands his Sand marauders to attack her, they both activate red light sabers from their Gaffi sticks forming the shape of scythes. Leeloo fares to hold her own against the two marauders till Kip unleashes a stream of force lightning, she manages to leap out of harm’s way, but is caught off guard by one of the light-scythes. Corraun, Tyan and Leopold charge to her aide. Massiff continues to fire and is shot twice for his courage. Kip offers them all a chance to surrender. Leeloo defeated, drops her light saber, Corraun reluctantly does the same. Accepting their surrender Kip warns them to flee Anchorhead as soon as possible, soon it will be razed to the ground. Eva and Corraun again tries to reason with Kip without success. Leeloo attempts to covertly reach for her saber, but is stopped by Kip. She bounds to her feet and using the force flees the room. It dawns on Kip that a sith lord would not be buried in a crude shelf and looks down at the sith empire symbol on the floor. With a blast of force lightning he destroys the seal revealing a sarcophagus. He leaps down splashing into stale liquid and spies the other half of the Sith Holocron. Eva asks him to look at what he has become, it gives Kip pause, but he continues on his course.

Kip and his band exit the chamber and two raiders are gunned down. Waiting for Kip are four Czerka guards, Leeloo and Knight Neros. The Knight gives Kip a onetime offer to surrender, Kip challenges him to a one on one duel. Kip opens with a blast of lightning, which is caught by Neros’ saber, surprised by the Knight’s skill Kip has left himself open and is struck to the floor by Neros’ blade. The Sand People attack Galen and several of them are gunned down on Leeloo’s orders. She draws Corraun’s light saber from a fallen marauder and moves to Kip. Corraun force pulls Kip to safety.

Using the force Corraun can detect some good left in him. Leeloo tries for a killing blow, but is blocked by Corraun who shouts out that Kip can be saved. Leeloo moves her blade to cover Kip, but he has had the time to recover and bats away her blade with his own. Eva believing in Kip and trusting Corraun steps between Kip and Leeloo. Kips uses this to his advantage, leaps to his feet and brings both red blades to her throat and demands everyone back. Corraun puts his hands out in a non-threatening manner and pleads with Kip to search his feelings and find the good that he can see still remains. Kip begins an internal struggle with himself Leeloo pounces on the distraction and swings at Kip, Corraun manages to just catch her arm and stop the blow. When Kip opens his eyes he is his old self again, the signs of the darkside are gone, but his smile turns to a cough as a dark mist exits his mouth, but then like a vacuum returns to his body and his face is covered in pure rage he swings to decapitate Eva, but Tyan leaps shoving her out of the way and taking the strike across his back. Leeloo grabs Eva and carries her off to safety.

Knight Neros is shocked having never seen anything like it before, but quickly recovers and engages Kip. Surround Kip fends them off long enough for his contingency plan to activate. Explosions occur throughout the mine creating multiple cave ins. Leeloo and Eva make a run for it, so does Tyan and Leopold, Corraun goes back for Massiff while Neros tries to defeat Kip. After several moments it’s clear that enraged Kip and Neros are too equal in power and are at a standstill. Kip flees leaving Galen to be killed by the cave in.

After several near misses with falling walls and stalactites the heroes reach the exit safely. Knight Neros scans for any sign of Kip, while Tyan and Eva hug each other for support. Leeloo begins to walk away.

End of session.

Episode 67

March 18, 2013 19:36

With three Mag-ships only seconds away Leeloo helps the injured Corraun to the engine room. Prioritizing Corraun focuses on getting the shields on line first. Leeloo runs to the Kondor’s cockpit to help get any functioning systems on line. Tyan runs to the top quad cannon and manually rotates it to face the oncoming ships awaiting power to be returned to the cannons.

Even with two months separation Corraun knows every line and cable of the Kondor as if it was his own body, he gets the shields sequence initiating just before the Mag-Ships open fire. Although not at full power the shields manage to hold at bay the initial salvo. Leeloo using the force is able to move a Mag-cannon at the last moment to redirect its blast. Corraun next gets the cannons on line and Tyan opens fire. The shields are beginning to weaken at a faster pace than Tyan can damage the Mag-ships. A shot rocks the ship and the afterburners are wrecked beyond jury-rigging repairs. While Corraun works on getting the primary engines and pitch controls on line Leeloo runs to the hatch and stands atop the Kondor drawing the fire of one of the three ships. The mounted Mag cannon fires again and again at Leeloo, but with expert skill she managed to deflect the massive bolts of energy, buying enough time for Corraun to finish repairing the sub-light drive. Leeloo returns to the cockpit as Tyan destroys one of the ships before they lift off and take flight leaving the slower Mag-ships in the dust.

Meanwhile at sector 12 tower Knight Xergo stealth’s into the power control room of the Ion cannon and removes the exterior shielding when he is spotted by a guard. Xergo manages to trick the guard into tossing a grenade into the power supply of the cannon and destroying it faster than Xergo could with his light saber. After slaying the guard Xergo disappears before reinforcements arrive.

Sending the recently freed droids to The Liberty Xergo surprises the posted guards making quick work of them until Sector 12 Overload Diglo walks down the ramp and draws both a disruptor pistol and verpine vibro-blade. The overlord is skilled, but even with superior numbers he is no match for an experienced Jedi Knight like Yago Xergo. Within moments all opposition is dispatched and the Knight and two droids board The Liberty in time to join the Quasar Kondor leaving the Wrecker’s Moon. Corraun is able to repair most systems to a functioning order, but the sublight engine damage sustained from the Mag-ships is causing the Kondor to move at a snail’s pace and there is the matter of getting the hyper drive back on line.

Only a few miles away from the planet both transports are attacked by more than twenty starships appropriately called Smokes. They’re easily recognizable by the long trails of smoke tethered from their single fuel cell engines. On the Kondor both Tyan and Corraun man the turrets while Leeloo initiates evasive maneuvers in the now sluggish wounded bird. On the Liberty Xergo is both pilot and gunner while T3 struggles to keep the shields intact. The Liberty is eventually swarmed and the concentrated fire of the Smokers let by an ace pilot proved too much destroying The Liberty in a fiery explosion. Corraun immediately feels a disturbance in the force, Leeloo hoping that Xergo could still be saved rolls the Kondor back and into where The Liberty was last seen. Only large chunks of hull remained…no living person could have survived. With all remaining Smokers focusing fire on the slow Kondor Leeloo makes the difficult decision to change direction back to the Moon in hopes of losing the Smokers in the mountains of scrap. Before the Kondor can enter the atmosphere the smoker’s ace takes advantage of the Kondor’s weakened shields and strafes the engines, top turret and the ships controls. Leeloo tries her best to remain control but the g-forces prove too much and she blacks out.

One week earlier on board of The Liberty Corraun and Leeloo receive a holo from Jedi Padawan Zayne Carrick stating he has some information that could help them find The Quasar Kondor, but asks they don’t alert his mentor Master Lucien Draay. Leeloo and Corraun suggest to Knight Xergo to stop at Taris for any news on the Kondor, Kip or Redora. They’re greeted warmly at the Taris Jedi Temple by Hamlin and the Padawans who mistake Leeloo as a Jedi Knight because of the new color of her robes and the lack of a Padawan braid. Gharn and Oojoh complain that they are ready for the trials, but the master will not let them take the tests yet. Just as Leeloo begins to explain her new path Knight Xergo and Master Draay walk in. Draay who formerly had so much respect for Leeloo appears to have resentment to her new path. Leeloo changes the subject as soon as possible. The masters have no news about either Kip or Redora, but do allow the group to stay the night and rest. Once Master Draay excuses himself Knight Xergo immediately begins to grill Zayne for information using the knowledge that Corraun had shared with Knight Xergo about Zayne’s holo. Disgusted Leeloo leaves the room and is followed by Tyan.

Xergo threatens to expose his deceit to his Master if he does not tell him everything he knows immediately. Zayne recites a series of events from a few days ago when he was in disguise as a local thug trying to capture the criminal Marn the Glyph, he overheard a conversation between a few of Ajurr the Hutt’s minions. Some type of secret war is occurring between Ajurr the Hutt and Bogga the Hutt and a big blow was coming. Zayne recognized the mention of The Quasar Kondor. Zayne knew his master would go straight at these thugs and being foolish they’d try to fight back and be killed, which is while he reached out to Leeloo and Corraun and now offers to help, figuring a show of numbers would force the thug Machpo to surrender. Kamlin offers her blade as well. Xergo leaves Zayne sweating by leaving the room without saying one way or another if he would tell Master Draay.

After dinner Kamlin has a private talk with Leeloo, who shares more about her current path as a sister of the force. Xergo gets permission from Master Draay to use the padawans as needed while on Taris in pursuit of Kip and Redora. Draay more candidly expresses what a waste of talent to lose Leeloo from the order as he would classify Leeloo, Corraun and Shad as the most promising padawan’s in recent years.

The next day Zayne leads the group to an ambush point to capture Machpo. Zayne again expresses his concern of having this be resolved without any loss of life on either side. Knight Xergo his taken a little a back at what appears to be a softness with in Zayne that may prevent him from every truly becoming a Jedi Knight. Machpo arrives with three thugs and they spring the ambush boxing them in. Surrounded by five jedi the Hutt’s men give pause. Xergo demands they drop their weapons and answer his questions. Machpo seeing he is out matched, but fearing of his men hearing him talk, word would get back to Ajurr and he’d be a dead man, so with the element of surprise he guns down his three companions causing Zayne to cry out.

With his carbine dropped Machpo answers all of their questions. Yes Ajurr has a new weapon against Bogga, but it’s not The Quasar Kondor, although Ajurr has recently acquired the vessel and its scheduled to be destroyed which will be a morale insult to Bogga who has hunted for that Ship for more than a year. The Kondor is with a pirate group called The Wreckers who operated a salvage moon. He gives them coordinates and landing codes, before Zayne arrests him. Wasting no time the heroes prepare to depart to this Wreaker’s Moon. The Taris padawans and Masters say goodbye. Leeloo and Corraun give a special thanks to Zayne who shares that he counts them among his few friends. Kamlin tells Leeloo that if Zayne stops holding them back she’ll take her trials soon and then as a Knight she can go anywhere including helping Leeloo track down and kill Redora. Just before leaving Master Q’anila gives a grave warning to Xergo to be careful.

From Taris they depart to the Wrecker’s moon.

Returning to current time. On the surface of the Wreckers moon Corraun is trussed up in a torture ring and being integrated by the Ugnaught Gogork. After the fifth day of this torture Corraun remains steadfast and closed mouth. After suffering a great deal of punishment he is thrown back into a cell with Tyan, Eva, and Leeloo who all show signs of torture. The heroes have been captured before and held by gas, sedative tanks and energy walls, but this time it’s pure physical abuse and damage.

To the rescue arrives Zayne Carrick and Jedi Master Draay. The Master makes short and violent work of any pirate fool enough to stand in their way. The heroes pass in and out of recallable consciousness as they are forced to move on sprained and strained legs. They next awake being taken out of Kolto tanks on a nearby space station. Zayne explains that he tried to reach them on holo, but couldn’t get a hold of them and worried that something went wrong. He told Master Draay about Machpo and the Wrecker’s moon. Zayne feels terrible that he didn’t tell the Master sooner and maybe Knight Xergo would still be alive. The good news is that the salvage pirates did collect the debris from The Liberty and Zayne was able to rescue both T3 and K8, in fact T3 was able to get the hyperspace logs from the Quasar Kondor wreckage.

After a few more days of rest for the heroes they say good-bye to Zayne and Master Draay. Leeloo humbly thanks the Master for saving her, but he curtly dismisses her gratitude. The heroes review the hyperspace log working backwards they decide to focus on the last stop that was longer than a day in hopes of learning what Redora is up to. The last long stop was on an unheard of planet called Tattoonie in the outer rim.

Episode 66

January 02, 2013 23:31

Taking weapons and supplies off of the dead Trandoshan Leeloo, Eva, Tyan and Tiro make great haste attempting to put as much distance between them and the sounds of the last battle. Four hours later as the sun is beginning to set they hear the sounds of running water and reach the clearing they’ve sought after for three days. In the clearing is a beautiful glass cabin with a picturesque view of a river and mountains. Fearing an ambush Leeloo cautiously scouts out the cabin. Relief washes over when she is greeted at the door by a young boy named Keyma. Leeloo explains to the boy’s mother Furnuk Beckna that they have been in an accident and need help. The mother is floored at the sight of Koravon’s first prince Tyan Duna caked in dried blood and mud. They are welcomed in and given fresh clothes and much needed food. Furnuk explains they are in the Great Forest, approximately 1200 miles from the capital city Le’sear. She and her seven-year-old son Keyma have been vacationing here a few days awaiting her husband’s return in the morning, they have no speeder till the husband arrives. The group struggles over the risk they may have placed this family in, but even if they leave now and are tracked they would be in greater risk without their protection. As a precaution Furnuk and Keyma are directed to sleep in the small storm cellar. Keyma is afraid of the dark place, but with encouragement by Tyan he goes willingly.

That night Leeloo hears a noise in the kitchen and finds Keyma raiding the fridge. Leeloo while sharing a glass of Gravo Juice hears another noise and tells the boy to wait there. She moves quietly into the living room and hears a low growl, so looks to her left and spots a green skinned Trandoshan hidden in the shadows already inside the house staring right at her. Leeloo managed to yell out a warning to those sleeping upstairs and dives out of the way of blaster fire. She makes it back to the kitchen to check on Keyma. All is quiet for several moments as the Senators awake and the Captain cautiously makes his way to the stairs. Keyma moves under the sink and bangs on a pipe causing the creeping hunter to hesitate just long enough for Leeloo to dodge more blaster fire. Moving from cover to cover she leads the hunter way from the young boy. By now Tyan and Captain Task have made it onto the stairs and open fire on the hunter.

Leeloo tries her hand with a vibrosword but swings too wide and buries it into the fireplace. Task lands a solid shot, but the hunter takes it in stride. Leeloo legs sweeps the large lizard giving the others an easier target, but the hunter just won’t die. Immediately as he is about to get back to his feet she uses the force to hold him down while Task and Tyan blast him into the force. Exhausted Leeloo collapses against the wall and is comforted by Keyma. The next morning Mr. Beckna arrives and after a few promises of reward from the first prince they are offered to be taken back to Le’sear. With not enough room in the speeder for mother and son Leeloo and Tyan give their warm thanks and goodbyes to their unlikely saviors.

They return to all kinds of uproar over the first princes’ kidnapping. Tyan shares all recent events with Baniss including that he was intended target and not Tyan. Unsure of how to find the parties behind the attack and upheaval Tyan decides to see Korwin Seerer in the deep dungeons still awaiting execution. On Koravon capital punishment still practiced, but the victim or victim’s family must first forgive the guilty party before the punishment can be dealt. The King has not been able to forgive Korwin from trying to have his eldest son killed. Korwin is kept isolated deep in the dungeons and looks to be a shell of his former self. Korwin tells Tyan that he wishes to die as he is of no more service to Koravon, Tyan offers to talk to his father on this matter in exchange for his help. Tyan explains about the recent strife and kidnapping. Korwin believes the key to this mystery has to do with the sudden escalation between covert sabotage and an outright attack on Baniss. What has happened to make the perpetrators panic? In the meanwhile Korwin recommends speaking to the supposed victims of the accidents since it is obvious an unseen hand is behind all. Tiro is welcomed back by Hairin who points out that he could have died without ever sharing his true feelings to Princess Resa. Tiro agrees, but wants permission from Prince Tyan first.

Posing as a charitable group Tyan, Leeloo and Captain Task go to speak with Ardka Nema, one of the local accident victims. Leeloo’s suspicion is heightened when she notices a new lock on their door. Both husband and pregnant wife are extremely nervous at their visit. Playing good cop bad cop, they force the couple to break down and reveal what really happened. Ardka was visited by a large one-eyed Trandoshan who instructed Ardka to fake an injury at the factory. When he said no the monster struck his wife Lureen in her pregnant belly and said if he didn’t do it then he’d return and skin both his wife and the fetus. Ardka had to shatter his arm himself using a door. Further investigation of other supposed victims revealed similar stories; most were intimated into lying while some were just bribed. They apprehend one of the middlemen behind this, but his knowledge lead them only the one-eyed Trandoshan.

A droid driven speeder crashes into the palace has the picketing crowd swells in numbers and storms up to the gates. The royal family is ushered to their rooms. This only services as a distraction for a breach into the Kings’ room. Tyan and Leeloo rush in to find two dead guards, a hole in the wall and a speeder off in the distance. Leeloo finds a datapad note left behind reading: “I have the King, if you want him back then the Jedi must face me so that she pays for the death of my son. Met me at these coordinates in 4-hours. If I see a single guard when you approach the King dies and I try again with someone else you love.” Leeloo becomes resigned to accept the likely fatal trap. Tyan insists on going as well assuming that he and the captain would not be such a frightening force and the hunter would settle for revenge against them all. Eva pulls Leeloo aside saying she has faith Leeloo will return victorious, but without a lightsaber Leeloo is anything but confident.

They arrive at an abandoned gravos warehouse and find King Ficord tied to a chair and guarded by three off world thugs. The Trandoshan Vorsk explains that The Great Score Keeper must be sated for the loss of his son Aosk. Leeloo tries to reason with the old hunter, but nothing less than death will change his mind. Vorsk in Huttese tells the guards that if he should die to kill them all. Vorsk throws Leeloo’s lightsaber before her feet stating she is worth more points this way. Without a second hesitation she pulls the lightsaber to her hands and attacks. The battle is fast and brutal. Leeloo cuts his rifle in half but leaves herself open for a mighty kick. Vorsk opens fire with a gatling gauntlet firing solid projectiles forcing Leeloo to take evasion maneuvers. Vorsk draws his Cortosis vibro sword and meets her blade to blade.

Although a dangerous hunter, but in a straight up fight he is no match for Leeloo. She cuts off his left arm sending him to the ground. Feeling confident she says his son died being defeated by small boy. Vorsk grins and says he knows all about the little boy Keyma. When he returned to the Great Forest to pick up the hunters and tracked the hunt it ended at the cabin and he “talked” to the boy and his mother. Visions of this monster entering their home and slaying Keyma and his mother are too much for Leeloo. She slices off the rest of his limbs. As soon as he stops twitching the thugs open fire. Tyan is caught by a stray shot, which send his father into a fury. Leeloo kills the thug guarding the King and cut’s his bonds free. Ficord picks up a carbine one-handed and clips an Aguish thug in the shoulder. The captain pulls free his blaster pistol and opens fire. The last one runs off. The Captain thinks about giving chase, but knows they are beyond the palace walls in a city on the verge of a revolt and decides the priority is to get the prince and king back now.

Back at the palace Tyan visits Korwin again who has now had time to study the recent events. The seer’s perception is that the cold storage facility is the main factor and that the accidents are a distraction. Someone has wanted attention diverted to the upheaval, but Baniss must have continued on a path that scared those behind this. Tyan recalled over hearing a holo between Baniss and Vandel regarding keeping up on audits and then the next day was the kidnapping. Tyan talks to Vandel who admits he did proposal several cuts of protocols to focus on PR and production since these incidents began. One of such reductions was to cancel audits of the Gravos reserves. Between 23 cold storage facilities on the planet is kept one year of product in case of a catastrophic event. These audits are normally over looked and it was only recently that Baniss ordered a thorough audit. The dates match with the start of all the turmoil. Leeloo sneaks into one of the not yet audited storage facilities and finds it empty.

Tyan narrows the field of suspects to the Arfo family who operates the gravos reserves. Baz had been seen with the gold digger Yvonne Koda who seems out of his league. Leeloo sets up a casual interview with Yvonne Koda and learned that she and Baz were planning to move to Coruscant soon, but he has been under a lot of stress. Armed with this information Baz is lured to the palace and confronted by Tyan and Baniss. All of their cards are thrown on the table and Baz fully caught reveals that he didn’t mean for anyone to get hurt. He planned just to take some of the reserves sell them off world to give him enough credits to start a life off planet, but then the audits started and he arranged for some accidents to distract from the audit until he could replenish the supply. Then with galactic concern of Gravos product failure the price of Gravos went up, his off world partner sent Vorsk and his crew to create more strife to further increased the profit and hide the theft. Baz is terrified of his off world partner and at first refuses to name him. Tyan negotiates a deal where his family cannot lose station, but he must reveal his partner. Baz agrees and demands protective custody because Savik Falo will have him killed. Tyan explains to Baniss and Captain Task just how dangerous Savik really is.

Tyan’s accounts are unfrozen and the funds are wired to Knight Xergo. Tyan presents his father with Vorsks’ Cortosis vibro blade and asks the King to forgive Korwin. The king who was betrayed by his oldest friend can’t promise he will, but vows to try. At the Le’sear star port Tyan says goodbye to Resa who reminds him to perform a grand gesture to Leeloo and not let her escape him. He says he’ll try. Resa then leaves to have a private talk with Leeloo. Leeloo explains this will be goodbye forever; she has a new home on Dathomir. Resa hoping this will not be the last time says in the old Koravon tongue “Mesai” to Leeloo, which means till I see you next. Tyan is approached by Captain Task who asks for a moment of his time. Tyan assumes he wants a reward for his recent actions and promises to grants him a hereditary knight title. Tiro is grateful, but asks instead to court his sister Resa. Tyan is taken aback and declares if this was just a week earlier then he would have the Captain whipped, but has his father always says, “you only really know a man if you fight or hunt with him." If Resa is pleased with the courting then Tyan will not object, but if he breaks her heart there will be hell to pay. They all board the barrowed transport and leave Koravon behind once more.

Epilogue:
A thin sun-hardened surf is dragging a large bundle of filthy rags through the busy streets of Le’sear. He turns into a dead end alley and opens the bundle before a squat, hunched robbed figure. The cloth pulled back reveals Vorsk with tendrils of regenerated limbs and painfully opens his one red eye. In a mechanical voice the robed figure says, “Who did this to you?”

Episode 65

December 21, 2012 22:04

Eight weeks before the events of Episode 64. The compact Jedi Task Force has spent two weeks visiting spaceports and fueling stations along hyperspace routes near Dathomir searching for signs of The Quasar Kondor. With the exception of one diplomatic mission to Delagauve they have been singularly focused on this task. On board the luxurious Liberty space yacht. Leeloo spends much of her time avoiding Senator Eva Cana. This is made more difficult as Eva is desperately trying to explain her actions to Leeloo. Both Tyan and Corraun try to mediate the conflict, but it falls on deaf ears. Eva tired of being a damsel in distress asks Corraun to teach her some self-defense maneuvers. Leeloo walks in on a rather intimate looking training session and warns Corraun not to fall for Eva as her heart belongs to another. Shocked Corraun fumbles a less then effective argument to the contrary. Leeloo speaks to Corraun in private stating that Kip has turned to the darkside and must be killed on site, before he harms them or anyone else. Corraun replies that they don’t know if he his fallen for sure. Leeloo disappointed at his hesitation requests Corraun to defender her while she does what Sisters of the Force have always done, destroy darksiders. Corraun acknowledges that he’ll always defend her.

While at a spaceport in the Mid Rim Jedi Knight Yago Xergo develops a plan to make contact with a reclusive information broker named Byric Reed. With enough credits Xergo believes he can purchase information on the Kondor or at least have a spy network looking for it. This meeting will have to be in person and it would be too dangerous to bring the Senators. It’s also in a sector that only respects male species and physical strength so Xergo will take Corraun with him and the others will be dropped off at safe harbor of Tyan’s choosing. Leeloo is disappointed not to be involved and stuck baby-sitting. Tyan is thrilled and chooses Pydar has his safe harbor. Plans change quickly when Tyan attempts to access one of his larger family accounts for the Credits and finds it locked. A holo to the family accountant Kenka Elson confirms that Baniss Duna has frozen the accounts and nothing can be done without Baniss’s approval. Reluctantly Tyan is forced to return to Koravon to acquire the funds and wait in the safety of his home world for Xergo and Corraun’s return.

Upon arrival to the Duna Palace they spot a few hundred protestors demanding safer working conditions. They are greeted by Aari Sularen servant to the Queen and taken to lavish resting quarters. It’s a merry reunion between Tyan, his mother and sister. Over gravos leaf tea Senator Cana is introduced and excited to meet Tyan’s family. The discussion leads to the subject of gravos production strike based on a series of serious accidents. A small dinner is schedule for this night between the prominent families of Koravon responsible for Gravos production. Post tea Resa and Leeloo pair off to catch up. Resa seems to take an instant dislike to Senator Cana and refuses to let her get in the way of Tyan and Leeloo’s relationship. Leeloo bears the bad news highlighting the major changes in the last year; She is no longer and Jedi and equal if not worse to Resa that Leeloo no longer loves Tyan. The later Resa refuses to take without a fight.

Tyan nearly ashamed of his modest palace gives Eva a tour. Meanwhile Palace Captain Tiro Task is goateed by his friend and lieutenant Hairan about finally revealing his feelings for the Princess Resa. The intimate dinner hosts 50 guests at the height of Koravon society. Eva makes a grand entrance wearing Coruscant’s latest fashion. Eva’s entrance is second only to Leeloo wearing a traditional style dress of the world but with a sexy modern twist. Leeloo is quickly scooped up by Rayph Emos who appoints himself ambassador during Leeloo’s stay. Tyan speaks with Isabeau Roosh about varies topics ranging from petty gossip of Baz Arfo new arm candy Yvana Koda to more serious matters of the accidents and dry storage explosion. Silence strikes the room when a man dressed all in black and marked with facial tattoos of the ancient ways of Koravon enters the room. Although invited as a social courtesy no one expected Herrick Voth to attend. The Voth’s were the ruling family before the Duna’s. Immediately Tyan suspects a Voth involvement in the recent accidents. Over dinner Resa shares that Yvana is a bit a socialite ladder climber and that Baz may be in over his head. Herrick grills Tyan about his title of Hero of Arda-2 and attempts to corner Tyan into a fencing contest, but Tyan deftly maneuvers out of the challenge quoting that The Boetech Hunt is more his speed. As the event dies out Leeloo accepts a promise to see Rayph again before she leaves.

Following the event Tyan over hears a holo conversation revealing how stressed Baniss is and his directions to keep appearances normal. Tyan discusses his need for 50,000 credits and why are the accounts frozen. Baniss explains of the public scrutiny and that he can’t authorize that amount of off world spending, but assures Tyan this mess will be resolved soon and all will go back to normal.

The next morning everyone prepares for the fifth day of the Boetech Hunts. Tyan and Eva take a walker out together while Leeloo, Rayph and Herrick occupy another. Leeloo makes a small social mistake by offering her hand to Herrick. To their surprise Herrick acts gracefully and explains that during the Voth rule of Koravon It was the women who ruled. Tyan disinterested in the hunt spoils a shot for Herrick who challenges Tyan to a contest of first kill. Leeloo suggests a wager should be made over the bet. They agree on terms. Should Tyan win then he’ll select a wardrobe for the End Hunt Feast. Should Herrick win then Eva will be his date for the Feast. Herrick goads both parties to lower the walker to a level that places them endanger from the Boetech hounds. Leeloo spies Herrick cutting his hand and smearing blood on the side of their walker. The blood causes the nearby beasts to frenzy and three charge the walkers. Tyan expertly shoots one while it sneaks up through the ground mist. A second one leaps onto the walk, but Leeloo commands it to run and it does. Herrick waits till the third is leaping in midair to take the shot. Tyan and Herrick inspect the fallen Boetechs. Herrick’s is dead, but Tyan’s although a mortal wound is still alive. The contest goes to Herrick.

Following the hunt Tyan is ambushed in the mudroom by Resa regarding his mistreatment of Leeloo. He tries to explain that Dathomir changed her and she isn’t the same person anymore and fairy tales aren’t real. Resa tells Tyan to perform a grand gesture to prove his love and vows never to forgive Tyan for ruining this for her and storms off. Later that morning Tyan speaks with his ex-fiancé and now sister in law Verrina. She tells Tyan she is with child and would appreciate his help freeing up Baniss’s schedule for the day. Tyan agrees. The whole family is pleased at the news and Tyan offers to go to the labor meeting in town in place of Baniss so that he may be with his wife on this special day. Eva suggests to Tyan that Leeloo come with them under the guise of a protector and this will force Leeloo to be near Eva and they can clear the tense air.

Leeloo accompanies them but chooses to ride in front with Captain Task. On their way to the meeting their speeder is t-boned knocking them all unconscious. They awake in pain, blindfolded and tied to a chair. They hear a human voice speaking to a Trandoshan, stating they kidnapped the wrong Duna, it was Baniss they wanted. The captors are told to kill the captain, senators and Jedi. They next awake in a forest on their knees before three young Trandoshans and one much older one. The older one Vorsk explains these prey will be the young one’s first hunt before the Great Score Keeper and to be careful one is a Jedi. To the dismay of Aosk his father Vorsk takes the Jedi’s lightsaber with him stating they are not prepared yet for a armed Jedi. Vorsk leaves and the four wounded heroes are given time to run.

Wounded and frightened they run as far as fast as they can. Captain Task’s leg is severely wounded and offers to stay behind so not to the slow them, but instead they take the time to treat the wound and fashion a crutch. Leeloo attempts to hide their tracks as they move. After four hours they hear the roar of the hunt’s start. Leeloo manages to befriend a par of forest vermin. In the morning a hail of blaster fire forces their heads down. Leeloo sends a pet to scout the attacker; the reveal one Trandoshan about 80 meters away. Leeloo sends the pair out as a distraction while she sneaks up. The plan works, but the vermin pay with their little lives. Leeloo tries to pull the rifle from Rukka’s hands, but his grip is too strong and returns fire catching her in the shoulder. The others charge forward. Leeloo back on her feet disarms his rifle, which is picked up by Tyan. Armed with a large vibro sword Rukka was still very lethal. With a leg sweep from Leeloo Tyan is able to unload a burst into the young Trandoshans chest till he stopped moving.

Fearing the other hunters had heard the blaster fire the group presses forward trying to put as much distance between them and the corpse as possible. Three hours later they hear a roar and know that the Rukka’s body was found. Later in the day Leeloo spots the tracks of a Boetech beast, they decide to follow the tracks in hopes Leeloo can find the creature and enlist its aide. Unfortunately the blood from their wounds attracts four Boetechs. Leeloo manages to command two to fight each other while Tyan armed with vibrosword and Captain Task with the Trandoshan rifle fends off the other two. Task’s leg wound makes him a repeated target and suffers numerous vicious bites. When the dust settles only one heavily wounded Boetech hound remained. Leeloo goes down on all fours and circles the Boetech establishing dominance. Next she gives the appearance of feasting on the carcass with the Boetech as one of its pack, loyalty is won and the hound leaves with them, making both Eva and Captain Task nervous of their new companion.

That night in a fireless camp Eva afraid they’ll not survive this ordeal corners Leeloo into a heart to heart talk. She acknowledges how betrayed Leeloo must feel, but Eva grew up in a flotilla of ships and never had a specific place to call home. The whole republic is now her home and she feared after Tyan chose to keep the Amlex and Mandolarians connection a secret that nothing would be done about the threat. Even now Eva feels the Jedi are overconfident in their power and do not find Redora a true threat, else why would they only send one Knight to the task. Leeloo reluctantly concedes that due to Eva’s interference they have a great deal more help than just one Jedi Knight. Eva admits she should have told Leeloo first and Leeloo apologizes for the way she has treated Eva since. With a smile Eva proposes if Leeloo can get them out of this alive all will be forgiven.

The next morning they continue marching towards what they hope is a water source and perhaps civilization but reach a great chasm blocking their path. Eventually they find a fallen tree usable as a bridge to cross the distance. Leeloo and her Boetech go first and cross successfully. Eva goes next and is fired upon from the tree line. Although not struck by a bolt Eva slips and is hanging off the side about to fall. Leeloo uses the force to pull her to safety giving the young hunter Lacnar an easy target. Leeloo is shot twice and falls unconscious or worse. Tyan and Task fall back into the trees for cover. Eva crawls toward Leeloo to perform first aid, but the Boetech no longer under direct mind control is standing over Leeloo. It snarls and snaps at Eva threatening her should he try and touch Leeloo. After a few false starts looking as if Leeloo may be dying Eva risks the Boetechs’ wrath to stop her from bleeding to death. Eva managed to do so, but the hound bit into her heavy robes. Meanwhile Tyan and Task have engaged with the Lacnar. Bark splinters in great batches as blaster fire is exchanged in these dense woods. Leeloo conscious again sends the Boetech to attack the great lizard. It races across the tree bridge and sinks it’s fangs into the hunter forcing a small retreat from the lizard, but a well-aimed burst kills the hound.

This buys enough time for Leeloo to cross over and using the force throws the hunter to the ground allowing Captain Tiro Task to empty an entire energy cell into the overgrown lizard. Wounded, exhausted and nearly spent the group prays they can make it out of the woods before facing the last hunter.

End of session.

Episode 64

December 07, 2012 22:56

With the sound of Mag-ships in the distance the heroes leave the wreckage of the four junk golems. After several hours of narrow escapes they find a fuselage at the bottom of a junk pile forming a cave like shape. Jaryn briefly explains that he was forced to work for Ajurr the Hutt in exchange for cybernetic replacements following an accident. Jaryn was sent to steal information on Bogga the Hutt, but decided to double cross Ajurr and make a run for it. He was caught and brought here to have the information extracted. The next morning Jaryn explains that he still can try to find the Quasar Kondor, but now that the sector is on alert he can no longer use a utility node, he’ll need a secure access terminal. They plan an assault on a nearby barracks station. Leeloo and Corraun move in first but are spotted by guards on the upper level. Corraun using the force grabs Leeloo and tosses her up to the second level where she lets lose a lightsaber into one of the pirate guards. Knight Xergo escorts Hull to the S-comp terminal. Guards pile out of the tower and begin firing at anything moving. Eva unarmed finds a crevasse to take cover in while Tyan stands his ground firing at the pirates. Corraun leaps from the second balcony to the edge of the third, but his handhold breaks and he falls to the ground knocking the wind out of him. Knight Xergo is forced to defend both blaster shots for Hull and Cortosis laced vibro-swords against himself. A few swings cut into the Knight, but he stands his ground buying more time for Hull to locate the Kondor’s location.

Eva pokes her head out of cover long enough to yell at Tyan to get into cover, giving a pirate the opportunity to blast her in the shoulder. Corraun gets back to his feet and helps Leeloo finish off the last of the pirates. She heads to the top of the tower to look out for Mag-ships. Hull downloads the data files just as Leeloo spots three Mag-ships in route. The group leaves the area just before being sighted. Once in relative safety Hull reviews the files and shares that the Kondor is scheduled to be destroyed today. Corraun declares they should go now to rescue her. Knight Xergo explains that with the Ion Cannon active they’ll never make it off planet. Xergo will go disable the Ion Cannon and try to rescue the droids, while the others rescue the Kondor. Unfortunately Xergo has a long trek back to the overload tower meaning to time the assault they’ll have to let the pirates start dismantling the Kondor. They separate and a few hours later they reach the Kondor surrounded by a dozen pirates and a dismantle team consisting of Ugnots and four Rodians in grav-lift suits. Hull spots the Ugnot torturer Gagork and declares the right to kill the swine.

It’s a painful experience for Corraun to sit atop a mountain of junk watching the pirates set up a eight meter las-cutter and turn on two plasma furnaces. Leeloo holds his hand in support. Right on schedule they start, the grav-lift operators begin cutting into each corner of the ship. Eventually sectioning out a chunk of the ship at these corners then it dawns on Corraun what they’re going to do. If they secure towlines to each corner pulling against each other placing tremendous stress on the ship then the massive las-cutter can cleanly bisect the ship into pieces that’ll fit into the giant plasma furnaces.

Unable to wait any longer the force users start making their way down the mountain of scrap metal. Leeloo leaps to a flat piece of metal but finds it unstable and both her and the sheet of metal slide down the mountain alerting the pirates of their presence. Corraun leaving stealth behind quickly advances down. Leeloo rights herself on the sheet of metal and rides it to the bottom. Hull, Tyan and Eva begin the painfully slow process to get down as well. Corraun using the force speeds across the open ground and cuts down an Ugnot las cutter technician. Hull using his cybernetic legs is able to leap down quickly and brandishing a make-shift sword. The battle surges and Tyan takes a risk to get down quickly, spotting a broken ships’ wing he dislodges it and rides down the hill holding on for dear life. At the bottom he draws his sword and in his best Dirk Darksky voice challenges a pirate to a duel.

The Grav-Lift Rodians complete their work and activate the tow-cables. Leeloo makes it over to the port side and cuts the massive cable. Corraun makes to the next one and in moments they have all four cut. This allowed the pirates to gather themselves and make an assault on the busy heroes. Corraun is struck by a blaster shot and knocked to the ground quickly followed by Ugnot’s stun blaster knocking him out. A Grav-lift operator lands atop Corraun and cuts into him with his arm mounted las-cutter. Leeloo darts over in time to slice into the suit taking the attention off of the unconscious Corraun before receiving a final fatal blow. On the other side of the battle field Hull is now armed with a tri-barrel carbine and along with Tyan is keeping the rest of the pirates busy. A grav-lifter picks up Tyan with his antigravity field and drops him from 24 meters up landing with a crunch. Eva from the scrap pile begins firing to take attention away from the now helpless Tyan. This works and a Grav-Lifter flies over to Eva trying to take her head off with his las-cutter. She is forced to leap into the sharp pile of twisted metal and slide to the bottom. Hull already taking on two Grav-Lifters sees Leeloo occupied with four pirates and Eva helpless on the ground with a Grav Lifter standing over her. He fires a triple burst at the Rodian buying Eva time to get away.

Hull stays up as long as he can against now three Grav-lifters but his luck runs out and they cut off his left arm, then right and left leg. Finishing off the last pirate Leeloo gives the Grav-lifters the chance to the surrender. They stop the dismantling of Hull and attack Leeloo. She manages to kill one before they use the antigravity field to grab a hold of her. Like Tyan, Leeloo is dropped but using years of training and the force Leeloo manages to land on her feet. With two on her it’s only matter of moments before her luck runs out. Leeloo calls out for help and Eva picks up a carbine and blasts an operator getting one’s attention. Leeloo using this moment of freedom runs inside of the Kondor and locks the ramp closed.

Tyan gets to his feet as the Grav-lifters close in on Eva. Tyan is picked up in an antigravity field again, but this time he his being moved towards a plasma furnace. Leeloo makes it to the gun turret on the Kondor. The operator looks over and laughs knowing that power would have already been shut down before dismantling the ship. In an amazing feat of luck for Tyan the cannon has just enough juice left to fire once killing the grav-lifter and causing the last one to flee. Eva and Tyan run over to Hull as Leeloo goes to collect Corraun. Eva says she can’t find a pulse on Jaryn, but they both agree they can’t just leave him here. They pick up the pieces of Hull and board the Kondor.

Eva begins to treat Corraun giving him a shot for the pain and anaphylactic shock. Leeloo and Tyan go to the cockpit and find that power is off to the engines, life support and electrical systems. The Kondor won’t fly without Corraun’s help. Leeloo runs back and demands Eva to find a way to sober him up. As she is looking for a stimulant Corraun begins to fall asleep again, Leeloo kisses him hoping to keep him awake a little longer. It works for a moment, but without a stimulant Eva apologies and jabs two fingers into his chest wound. The pain and adrenaline kicks him out of the fog as Leeloo explains what’s wrong with the ship. Tyan still in the cockpit spots three Mag-ships in route and uses the intercom to announce, incoming!.

Important Introductions & Firsts:

Jaryn Hull loses a force point, Leeloo kisses Corraun.

Episode 63

November 20, 2012 00:30

Our brave heroes leave the safety of the bridge and head to the air lock on deck 3. They make a single stop allowing Herin to acquire several Det-Rods and Bore to grab a massive sparkles Saw. They reach the airlock and begin the long space trek to the Lane Blazer. To cross the Gullian Wheel each much unlock from their tether and float across to the next line. Knight Xergo, the least experienced at zero gravity misses his leap, but is pulled by Corraun using the force. Once inside the Lane Blazer they make their way to the bridge. Cric walks Herin through the procedures of powering up the whole ship. Everything can be done from the bridge except for setting the hyper drive to overdrive, which can only be done from the engine room. Xergo devises a plan to leave a path from the bridge to the engine room dark from power and life support and another path the same from engine room to the airlock. This would hopefully leave a safe path back, one not used by the Kruthik attracted by power surge.

On the way to the engine room five dormant Kruthik stop them. They quickly shut off their helm lights and attempt to float past them knowing the creatures are blind in the dark other than a tremor sense. While floating past in pitch black Corraun brushes against one. While Xergo passes the Kruthik it fully awakes and stabs Xergo puncturing a hole in his suit. Leeloo leads the others away in the dark. Not wanting to engage in combat and awake the others, Knight Xergo tries to out run the creature. Corraun assists, but as two more stir Leeloo using the force pulls Xergo into the next section as Corraun escapes as well, Herin shuts the door just in time.

They reach the engine room and discover a dozen Kruthik lying dormant.

E room.1

The original Kruthiks must have feed here as long as they could until the ship was abandoned and then entered a sort of hyphenation. Powering up the sublight drives must have slowly awakened some. Cautiously the heroes step around these balled-up killing machines praying none awake before they are finished.

E room.2

Corraun and Herin make it to the back of the room and spots a three meter tall Kruthik that begins to stir. The queen stands and with power once again returned begins to feed and unleashed an eerie scream rousing the others in the room. Herin starts work on the hyper-drive as the others are swarmed.

Bore makes quick work of one with the saw, but there are just too many. Leeloo engages the Queen, narrowing dodging her massive spiked legs. Xergo and Bore’s suits quickly become torn apart as they are set upon by seven Kruthik. Xergo calls out for everyone to assemble, and charges into the hyper drive room, leaving Bore to fend for himself. They tear him apart in seconds. The Queen having difficulty landing a strike on Leeloo, tears into a panel under her feet and throws it and Leeloo up into the air. Leeloo manages to land on her feet, but the Queen wasting no time charges Leeloo and stabs a massive forward appendage into her abdomen sending her flying to an engineering console.

Officer Meza manages to pin a Kruthik long enough to blow it up using a Det-Rod. Yago and Corraun step up to fend the queen off until Leeloo can get back to her feet. The Queen takes an interest in Yago and Corraun runs to the hyper drive controls and takes over for Herin. Each tear into their space suits by one of the vicious creatures is a step towards the death sentence of being trapped aboard this ship. The group hangs on long enough for Corraun to set the hyper drive to overload, but with suits damaged they know they can’t out run the monsters. Officer Meza heavily wounded spies a hole in the floor and leaps in. The others quickly follow suit.

They find themselves in the cooling sub deck. The hole is too small for the Queen to follow by the adults can one at a time. Corraun using the force tears open a steam pipe repelling the monsters for just long enough for Herin to get his bearings and lead them out. Once separated by a blast door they stop Herin’s bleeding and Corraun using a trick he learned by Rin Novastar uses the sealant charges from the few still in tacked suits to plug the holes in Xergo and Herin’s suits. Instead of fighting their way back to the air lock they decide to use the remaining Det-rods to blow a hole into the hull now, fearing the ship could explode from the hyper drive overloading.

They just make it across the Gullian Wheel and spot three Kruthik on a one-way path to them. Corraun severs the line with his light saber, but it’s not in time and the three leaps across, one over shoots the jump and sails into darkness. One grabs onto the line and the third leaps onto Corraun piercing his suit and using his last auto-seal charge. Leeloo using the force throws the one on Corraun off while he force pushes the third one off of the line. Seeing no other choice Leeloo un-tethers and leaps to the next cable over 50 yards away. Corraun’s emotions getting the best of him fears Leeloo will miss the line and keep sailing into space, so he uses the force to correct her position. Knight Xergo fortunately is able to compensate and push her back into the original trajectory in time for Leeloo to grab a hold of the next line. Now anchored to the new line the others are able to make the leap with the help of the force.

Once on the Salv II they see the last of the Kruthiks leave the Salv II for the energy beacon of the Land Blazer and then they disconnect the Gullian Wheel and enter the ship. As soon as they reach the bridge Capt. Addison makes the jump to light speed leaving the Lane Blazer to an unknown fate. Cric and the crew are saddened by the news of Bore’s death. Leeloo is kept in quarantine after parasites are found from the wound she suffered by the queen, fearing she may have been impregnated like Ches.

Flash forward 10 weeks

Tyan, Yago, Corraun, Eva & Leeloo are all aboard an opulent vessel called the Liberty and are posing as a group of pirates called the Darksky Raiders. They are attempting to infiltrate the pirate moon base of the Wreckers. The moon is literally filled with mountains of scrapped metal and ship parts. After a few moments their stolen landing codes are accepted and given permission to land. While a team of ugnots board the Liberty they heroes are taken to see Tower 12 Overlord Alessio Diglo. They introduce themselves as Captain Dirk Darksky (tyan), Grax (Yago), Dex (Corraun), Cassandra Devero (Eva) and Leeloo Stannis as herself. The Tyan requests to tour the yards to discuss a trade for the ship over just creds, the overlord is overjoyed at the thought and has his first mate Adas arrange the tour. The newly rebuilt K8 & T3 are left with the overlord to review a part inventory. The heroes have arrived based on Intel that the Quasar Kondor arrived her three days ago and is set to be destroyed.

While on the tour their escorting guards turn on them and a crane attempts to crush them under a pile of junk. Everyone leaps out of the way except Yago who stayed to disarm a pirate about ready to shoot Tyan. Leeloo landed on the far side of the mount, but the trash shot beneath her feet was opened sending her falling with an avalanche of scrap metal in pursuit. Corraun and the others escape into the mounts of junk followed by pirates and magnetic hover ships. A injured Yago catches up to them again. Leeloo manages to escape serious harm, but is lost in a valley of metal. While trying to find her way to the others she comes across a ugnot and droid torturing a cyborg. The torturer is trying to retrieve a file from his memory circuit for Ajurr the Hutt, but the Cyborg refuses to willingly hand it over. Left with no other option the Ugnot is about to cut it out of his brain, but is stopped by Leeloo who threatens the Ugnot with her lightsaber. The Ugnot flees and Leeloo reluctantly frees the prisoner when he suggests he can help her find whatever she is here for. Once free the Cyborg introduces himself as Jaryn Hull and as the way of his people on Iris-9 he owes her a life debt. Leeloo introduced herself as Eva Cana, hoping to be free of the Cyborg as soon as possible. They search for a utility nod to slice into and find one, but is guarded by three ugnots. Not wanting to kill them Leeloo lures two of them away and mind trick the third. Hull checking the security channels finds the area that the others must be in and downloads a map.

An hour later in section 3B12 the others are exhausted from the hiding and running, but while discussing their next plan Leeloo and Hull find them. Hull is given very little respect by Tyan and Yago, being that most Cyborgs are second class citizens. Their reunion is cut short as they are tracked down by four massive Junk Golems. Droids the size of tanks, but designed to operate like large cats of prey.

The battle is brutal, both Hull and Yago take serious wounds. Yago after giving battle instructions to the rest is targeted by two the massive droids and faced certain death but was saved at the last second by Corraun Jax. Unarmed Hull leapt on the back off one of the golems only to be buck off into the air, but by the end all four golems where destroyed and all of the group remained standing.

Flash back ten weeks, aboard the Salv II

The heroes continue to search the ship in case any Kruthik remained on board. K-8 was found partially functioning, but T3 was completely dissembled. Corraun takes great pains to ensure the nav-path to Typhon remains in tacked. In the med bay Leeloo and Tyan have a long conversation. Leeloo states she no longer has any feelings for Tyan and that he should look to Eva. Leeloo begs Tyan not to try and have her home destroyed. Tyan promises he will not get involved.

The next day Leeloo sharing the med bay with Officer Meza have a talk about her released of Baro. Leeloo holds her knowledge of Meza’s murder of his partner as leverage against not having her arrested and she promises to find Baro and bring him to justice. Meza denies any wrongdoing shooting her deal down flat.

Leeloo proves clear of any more parasites and is released from quarantine. Corraun challenges her decision to release Baro and not to do anything foolish regarding criminal charges that may come her way.

Taking Leeloo’s advice Tyan opens up to Eva Caná and declares that the Leeloo he used to have feelings for may no longer exist. Furthermore that Eva should trust no one, other than Corraun and the Jedi. He also goes onto discuss the dangers Redora, and Dathomir are to the republic, but that they shouldn’t say nothing about it to their superiors.

Tyan later asks Knight Xergo about the Cavern of Dreams and is it possible that his test was really a vision of the future. Xergo answers that although unlikely, it is possible.

After two days they reach Coruscant and although two CorSec officers are waiting for them, Leeloo is allowed to leave with a small nod from Meza. Terix Race creped out by Leeloo having been partially infected by the Queen, decided to coldly cancel their “date”. Goodbyes are exchanged and the Senators return to the senate while Leeloo, Corraun and Yago go to the temple.

Knight Xergo is questioned by Masters; Kodo-Toa, Doe-nar, and Felsha regarding the events of Dathomir and the Salv II. Xergo requests to be sent after Kip in hopes to bring him back to the light side and if not then to stop him. When asked if he would hesitate to kill Kip, Yago states that if he was fallen and would harm hundreds of innocents he would hope a Jedi would stop him by any means necessary. The Masters suggest that Knight Galen Neros would be the ideal choice to go after Redora and Kip, but will consider his request.

Meanwhile Tyan meets with Senators Torren, Mercer and Caná. He learns that Eva had submitted a report of the dangers of Redora to Senator Mercer, but the report was also viewed by Senator Bol’garn who interrupts the meeting to state that the Security Council has appointed Tyan Duna to be the liaison on the Jedi task force assembled to discover more about the Amelx and track down Redora. Tyan takes the news graciously, but knows that this will take him away from his current task of preparing the Republic against a Mandalorian attack. After the meeting Eva apologies to Tyan, but felt telling Mercer was the right thing to do. Tyan claims that Eva has maneuvered him out of his original position expertly. Eva is crushed that Tyan would believe she’d betrayed him on purpose.

Leeloo is questioned by Masters; Kodo-Toa, Doe-nar, and Felsha regarding the schism and her choice to become a Sister of the Force. Master Doe-nar is surprisingly supportive of her decision. Knight Xergo is called in and presented as aide to the Sisters to stop Redora and find Kip Gilto. They also announce that the Senate has requested a liaison assigned to the task force. Leeloo is furious at the Senate’s involvement and assumes Tyan is behind it. Following the meeting Yago breaks the news to Corraun that he and Leeloo will be going after Redora and Kip, but Corraun is assigned to protect senator Cana. Corraun is disappointed, but accepts the decision.

Senator Bol’garn lends his flag ship to Tyan to be used on the task force. She is named Liberty and of an opulent stature boasting; beautiful lines, spacious with three staterooms and presidential suite along crews quarters. The ship also a med bay and “sports” room. The sports-room is set up as a targeting range and exercise room. The ship is also equipped with particle and deflector shields plus a retractable tri-cannon atop the ship.

Eva has a private meeting with Corraun discussing their travel plans and is gilt ridden by learning that her request of Corraun has taken him away from going after Kip. Corraun tries to sooth her pain from Tyan’s impression of her betrayal over the Dathomir report and agrees to go with her to speak with him.

The next day Yago and Leeloo meet Tyan at the Liberty. Leeloo is furious at Tyan for going back on his word; he explained it was Eva Cana that told the senate. Her anger quickly found its target when Eva and Corraun arrived to see them off. Eva pleads with Tyan to forgive her and he accepts. Eva asks about Kip and the plan to bring him home. Yago explains that he’ll try to save him if not then he’ll have to be destroyed. Eva shocked at that even being a possibility asks if everyone feels the same. All except Tyan agreed to varying degrees largely based on how dangerous he may become. Mortified Eva makes a brash decision to go with them to ensure someone is fighting in Kips corner and even offers herself up as bait and that with Corraun they’ll have the strength to overtake Kip without lethal force. Tyan makes several arguments against it about lost political advantage. Xergo asks about the other worlds that she should be bringing into the republic, but each rebuttal is combated by a very determined Eva, who boards the ship before they can change their mind.

Important Introductions & Firsts:

Bore is killed, Kruthik Hive Queen, the ship Liberty, Wrecker Pirates, Alessio Diglo, Adas, Ugnot torturer Gagork, Jaryn Hull, and Junk Golems.

Episode 62

November 14, 2012 23:23

Tyan and Eva quickly leave the gruesome scene, trying to find their way back to the Jedi hoping the killer isn’t lingering nearby. A short distance away they see a shadowed figure smoking a death stick. They call out for help, but the figure only extinguishes the stick and retreats into the shadows. They reach the Jedi’s room, but feel as if they were being followed. The senators lead the Jedi and Leeloo to the gory scene. Corraun is forced to leave them all in the dark while he repairs the damaged power substation. Leeloo goes to contact the Captain. Addison arrives and calls for Dr. Terra and Jem to investigate. Dr. Terra arrives and confirms Eva’s theory that there is too much blood for anyone to still be alive. The Captain calls for all crew and passengers to muster in the galley for a roll call and discover who is missing. Dr. Terra remains to examine the scene; Corraun stays with her for protection.

One by one the crew enters the galley curious to why they’ve been called. Herin arrives recently coming from a shower and catches the suspicion of Leeloo and she questions his recent whereabouts. Everyone has arrived except the Prisoner and Jem. Meanwhile Corraun is assisting the search of the gore covered bulkhead and Dr. Terra finds Jem’s arm as identified by her tattoo, stuffed into a small cabling ducted in the wall. The space is too small for either one to crawl into and search for the rest of her. The captain organizes a search of the ship. Leeloo uses this time and Officer Meza’s absence to visit the prisoner Baro the Butcher.

Leeloo hears Baro’s offer to tell the identity of a murderer on board in exchange for a trip to the refresher. She refuses, but while walking away he announces the next death is on her hands. This causes Leeloo to change her mind and she frees the butcher escorting him to the nearest refresher. Meanwhile Corraun and Officer Meza are searching the Engine deck together, while Xergo is protecting the senators. Leeloo taking her guard duty seriously never takes her eyes off of Baro during his shower. After a few minutes she notices Baro is strangely holding the sponge over his nose and mouth, the steam in the room begins to have a yellowish tent to it, in fact a slight yellow vapor is coming from Baro’s skin. She begins to cough and has trouble breathing. Unable to reach her lightsaber she collapses. Helpless she sees Baro lean over her and says, “_a deal is a deal, Officer Meza is a murderer._” Then all goes black.

The heroes are called to the medical bay by Cric stating that Leeloo has been hurt and the butcher has escaped. Herin had found Leeloo in the refresher suffocating in a gas. They see Leeloo laying on a table motionless, skin a slight shade of yellow and a much stronger yellow on her lips. Dr. Terra assures them she will live and they she had been poisoned by Gelphine with a secondary element causing it to become reactive to water. She should awake in 12 hours or so. The captain and Office Meza are furious believing she may have released Baro. The captain demands she be put in manacles. The ship suddenly drops out of hyperspace and the bridge reports it was done from the engine room. Meza and Corraun rush to the engine room while Knight Xergo heads to the bridge. They find the hyperspace drive controls smashed. Xergo at the bridge learns the shuttle bay door is being opened. They all arrive just in time to see Baro get away in the space shuttle and with no way to stop him.

Leeloo awakes, light saber believed taken by Baro, and tries to get her friends to believe her that the killer is Officer Meza. With varying degrees of disappointment they are shocked to learn she did release Baro. Knight Xergo who at first tried to re-shift focus from who let the butcher go to whom the killer is finally takes responsibility for Baro’s release. The captain and crew believing if Baro could escape once then he could have other times and killed both Ches and Jem. Knight Xergo confident the killing will continue proposes that he and Leeloo be locked up in the now empty cell till arrival at Coruscant. The captain accepts the deal, but Xergo insists on retaining his lightsaber.

Tyan expresses his concerns to Eva that Leeloo is unstable and perhaps the Butcher has seduced her with Red Sand. Corraun adamantly refuses that as a possibility. With the help of T3 the hyper drive should be repaired in 2 days.

On day six while Corraun, Tyan and Eva are on their way to visit Leeloo and Yago they hear a report of a power failure on deck three and decide to see if they can be of help. They hear a strange sound before turning the corner. Upon arrival they spot a power panel torn open, blue coils flickering with power, occasional sparks. While Corraun’s back is turned a strange hissing critter with a metallic exo-skeleton leaps out of the neighboring bulk head and stabs its fore leg through Eva’s calf and begins trying to pull her into the crevasse it came from.
Kruthik.young
Tyan leapt to the ground and grabbed hold of Eva. Corraun drew his light saber and slashed at the critter, but it had no effect on its strange shell. Tyan gets Eva free and to her feet. Corraun tries again but still no affect. Tyan leads Eva to the medical bay. Corraun avoids its razor sharp legs the best he can and using the force throws it down the hall. When it hits the wall Corraun spots an uncovered portion of skin on his underbelly and waits for its next attack. When the creature leaps Corraun reaches out with the force slamming it to the ceiling and to the ground then while it’s rolled over stabs his lightsaber into its thorax, killing the creature.

Eva’s wounds are treated while the Captain and crew were shown the 1-meter long monster. Xergo and Leeloo are released once it’s determined that Ches’ injury could have been done by this critter and its attempt to pull Eva into the small bulkhead space could have severed Eva’s limbs like poor Jem. Once again the ship is searched from top to bottom looking for any more of these things. No more are found.

On day seven alarms sound has the hull has been breech on deck 1 section 039 and then almost immediately section 040 is sealed as well. Leeloo and Corraun volunteer to go with Bora and Herin to patch up the hull. The hole is only 18 inches in diameter and although incredibly eerie they succeed without incident and restore pressure to that part of the ship. They hope that whatever made the hole was blown out into space with the pressure escaped.

Cric proposes that T3 can try and search the Lane Blazer’s ships’ log for echo recordings alone with the broken nav-computer, both where taken on board during the initial salvaging.

One Day eight the day electrical systems start to fail all over the ship; deck 2 sections 009, & 036, Deck 3 section 046. Leeloo and Corraun go to deck two section 009, Bore goes to check 036 and Xergo accompanies Herin to deck 3 section 046.

When Leeloo and Corraun arrive they reach the area and it appears empty except damage to a bank of wall circuits. Then suddenly dropping out of the ceiling are three metallic oval-balls. Once they land they uncurl into more of the critters Corraun had killed. Corraun gives Leeloo his lightsaber and he uses the force to slam them into the ground leaving their thorax exposed for Leeloo to finish with the glowing blade. All three are quickly dispatched.

Herin and Xergo spy two of these metallic creatures feeding on an open electrical panel. Herin without a weapon is of no help to the Jedi Knight. After a long battle Yago slays both of the creatures.

They all return to the bridge and find Bore had found one as well feeding on a power coupling and managed to snap its neck. The monsters are taken back to Dr. Terra who has made a few discovers; one that these new ones are larger and second that the creatures are both organic and mechanical in fact they seem to grow by incorporating parts of the ship into their bodies.

On day nine T3 has restored the Lane Blazer’s log and nav-computer. The captain summons everyone for supper in the galley to review this new information. The ship called the Lane Blazer was part oof a exploration outfit trying to find safe hyperspace routes into the black hole filled deep core. They also were mineral surveyors. It was Captained by Ta’em Pireco. In 3,985 BBY (22 years ago) after 10 months of small hyperspace jumps they made it into the deep core. To the crew’s amazement they located coordinates -3, -41,-8, Tython. But as they approached the planet they were fired upon, once it struck the ship they thought it was a concussion missile. With the hull damage they sealed off that portion of the ship and got out of there. Once away they began having electrical system problems all over the ship. Engineer crewman Janson was found with a severe abdominal wound, the cause was unknown at the time as he was unconscious and in shock. Although stable Janson could not be awakened. After 5 hours his condition changed. He began to writhe in pain and his body swelled, then dozens of tiny 3-inch long sliver creatures tore their way out of him and scattered. The captain sent teams to hunt them down, but at their size they could hide anywhere. Over the next two days crew member after crewmember died from these creatures that had rapidly grown. Blasters were nearly useless again the monsters. The electrical systems continued to shut down as the creatures appeared to feed off of the ship’s power. They named them Kurthiks after monsters of legend on Corellia. With only 11 of crew left they shut down all internal systems even shut off the life support, after suiting up. But that didn’t stop the critters, once the power was off it only made them more aggressive and they began feeding off of dying crewmen. Their last resort was to set the nav computer to hyperspace into a black hole killing the Kurthik along with the ship. The crew would use the escape pods to survive at least a little while. Crewman Osta fought against the plan and the nav-com was damaged in the struggle, the captain didn’t know what coordinates where finally set, but the hyperdrive was warming up, so the remaining 7 are going to try and make it to the escape pods.

T3 ends the ships log and a moment latter power goes out, emergency lighting kicks on just in time to see a hoard of these Kurthiks pour into the open door. The Jedi leap to the front to hold the line.

Galley.fight.1small

Officer Meza and Captain Addison try their best but begin to be overwhelmed. Leeloo manages to the close the door, but the countless others begin tearing it down. Leeloo blocks for Officer Meza buying him the time to shot the underbelly of a Kurthiks that Corraun has gripped with the force.

Galley.fight.2small

Knowing the door won’t hold everyone exits the side galley door and quietly makes their way to the lift hoping to reach the ships bridge protected by blast doors. They manage to pass the hoard now streaming into the galley, but some must be left behind for the next lift. Dr. Terra, the Polis Massan, T3 and K8 are spotted by the hoard, but are stuck waiting 12 seconds for the lift to return.

Corraun goes to meet the charge to try and buy some time. As they near him he reaches out to the force and in a moment of great need unleashes a torrent of the force blowing dozens back. Even after that with dozen’s more crawling over the fallen it looks to be inevitable defeat. Leeloo steps to Corraun’s side to share in his fate.

To the lift small

They survive the first wave, but are pressed back with each onslaught. The lift finally arrives and opens and with Knight Xergo in it, but the swarm is about to leap forward. Xergo pulls the Polis Massan with the force into the lift; Leeloo leaps into the lift and does the same to Dr. Terra leaving Corraun with the terrible choice of grabbing the two droids or defending the lift doors alongside Knight Xergo. He makes the painful choice and with a nod from T3, Corraun blocks the lift alongside Xergo as the swarm over takes the two droids, tearing them apart. Xergo and Corraun manage to hold the Kruthiks at bay until the lift door closes, Xergo collapses from his many wounds.

At the bridge they form a plan to lure the monsters off of the ship and back into the Lane Blazer. To do so they must shut down all power to the Salv II, even life support everywhere except the bridge then lure the Kurthiks to the Lane Breaker by turning on its systems and force the hyperdrive to over load, lighting it up like the Uscru district on Coruscant. Once the Kruthik are all lured on board then they can disconnect the Gullian wheel and jump into hyperspace. But someone will have to go over to the other ship. Xergo, Corraun, Leeloo, Meza, Herin, and Bore all volunteer to go. Bore and Herin recommend they stop to pick up some salvaging equipment first that can be used as weapons. If they fail then the survivors on board the Salv II will try and get to the two escape pods. Eva thanks them all for their bravery and wishes the force be with them.

They step up to the bridge blast doors and prey to the force they it’s not too late.

Important Introductions & Firsts:

Jem’s death is revealed, the escape of Baro the Butcher and in possession of Leeloo’s lightsaber, the discovery of a hyperspace coordinates to Tython, and Kruthiks.

Episode 61

November 05, 2012 22:54

The bruised battered and exhausted heroes show the holo recording from T3 of Night Sister Redora’s departing promise. Master Andor and Prelate Goldana share the horror of what damage could be wrought with Redora secret knowledge of Star Temple alchemy in the hands the Mandolarians. Senator Eva Caná broke the silence noticing the absence of Padawan Kip Gilto. The heroes were hesitant to answer. Leeloo heartfelt and near to tears spoke; she blames herself for not reaching Kip in time to warn him of the dangers of the Cavern of Dreams. Andor and Goldana were shocked to learn that each and all of them entered the Cavern. Sister Lillyana was skeptical that Senator Duna was able to pass through the Cavern intact. Tyan shared his experience and won some admiration from those present witnessing a new side of the politician’s true character. Putting the pieces together the evidence is strong that Kip fell to the darkside with in the Cavern of Dreams and helped pilot Redora off of Dathomir in the Quasar Kondor. Knight Xergo took complete responsibility for allowing this to happen to Kip. Corraun offered up a theory that Kip had not fully recovered from the events on Fel-Tide and instead of healing Kip placed a wall up. This allowed an anchor for the Darkside to latch onto. The meeting was cut short has so many injured still needed aid from the wake of the pre-dawn battle.

As the dust settled many were left dead; six Sisters of the Force, three novices and 118 village women. The toll of death was amplified by 42 dead barbarians, three fallen Night sisters; Isond, Sarli Samuul & Gella Terrano along with seven acolytes. The few remaining acolytes and Night Sisters fled. It had since been discovered that the missing girls turned darksiders where all born during the time that Redora was a novice in charge of the nursery. For whatever reason, she had hid their force sensitivity and sent them to the village to be raised as normal girls. This does explain how they were each so talented in their professions.

The following day the bodies of the fallen villagers and sister alike were being ceremonially burned. To the surprise of all present Night Sister Gella was set in a pyre for Sisters of the Force. This stirred outrage among the villagers present tending to their dead. Eva rejecting Tyan’s advice to stay out of it championed the cause. Sister Viera Varga attempted to calm everyone and explain that in death they are still sisters and will be treated as such. Corraun proposed a compromise of delaying the funeral rites of the Night Sisters till the villagers have finished. This proved acceptable to all parties and the situation was diffused.

As the days followed both Master Andor and Tyan investigated the “weapons” used by the acolytes and learned it’s called an Amlex and seems to both amplify one’s connection and power to the darkside and act as a storage device to actually capture the force of another. Testing still needs to be completed by it’s believed the stone required for the creation is the same as the Star Temple. This stone can only be found in a few locations on Dathomir, once of which is the Cavern of Dreams meaning Redora could have a substantial supply with her. Corraun confronts Leeloo who is still blaming herself for Kip, along with so many others’ she let down. She shares with Corraun the death of Student Neiri. Fearing the spirit has left Leeloo for good he persuades her to put blame where it is due, purely on Redora’s shoulders.

Andor gathers the senators and Jedi together to announce that transport off of Dathomir has been arranged and will arrive in two days. Andor will be staying on Dathomir till the High Council can appoint a permanent Jedi Watchman; he does not anticipate being gone long. Post the meeting in a hallway Tyan approaches Andor speaking of the danger form the knowledge with in this temple yet discovered and proposes that the temple should be torn done for the protection of the Galaxy. Andor explains that it is a concern being evaluated by the High Council, but this is Jedi business and will be handled as such. Unknown to either one this conversation was over head by Novice Vella who immediately shared this news with Leeloo. Leeloo confronts Corraun with this news and demands resolution. Their most holy place cannot be torn down on a whim. Corraun’s attempt to calm her functions minimally. Leeloo rushed off to the office of the prelate and Corraun to Master Andor. Goldana listens to the tale and assures Leeloo this will not happen. Andor and Corraun arrive. A small battle of position occurs between the two masters and ends in a stalemate. Leeloo is assured there is no current plan to destroy the temple and all agree the sooner Redora is stopped the better it will be for all.

In a private meeting Andor speaks with Knight Xergo regarding Kip. Xergo promises if given the chance he will find and bring back Kip. As his Knight it should be Xergo’s responsibility. Andor explains a fallen Jedi even a Padawan is serious business and may be assigned to his superiors, if so will Xergo accept the council’s decision and stand down? In all honestly Xergo answers saying he does not know and won’t unless forced into that position.

The next day Leeloo is asked by the Prelate to leave Dathomir and stop Redora. The thought of leaving Dathomir brings Leeloo nearly to tears. Goldana explains that by the tenants of their teachings should any Sister born on Dathomir leave they are sisters no longer and never again. Because of Leeloo’s circumstances she is the only one who can go and be allowed to remain a sister. Leeloo accepts and prepares her good byes. Elsewhere Corraun says goodbye to Toma. They shared their mutual respect and in a surprising moment of perceived weakness Toma nearly begs Corraun for help leaving Dathomir. Corraun promises that Andor is a fair man and he’ll make the right decision.

Ozan greets Leeloo and they share a hug goodbye and a promise to see each other again. Late on the eve of their departure Leeloo locates Toma in the excavation zone. Leeloo asks if Toma really did kill her Jedi Master like the rumors say. Toma teary eyed tells Leeloo no she didn’t kill her master, but she would do anything to get off planet and asks a favor of Leeloo. She asks Leeloo to go check on her seven year old son Tyron and if possible send her a holo as she hasn’t see him since birth. Leeloo gives Toma Neiri’s star tracker and explains how it can be used to escape. It’s dangerous but if anyone can do it, Toma can. The next day Tyan releases Andromeda from his service to him and assigns her to the villagers, to teach them how to protect themselves. With a new respect for Tyan she pledges to do right by them. As the sun begins to set Lillyana arrives with the remaining speeder to take the group to the star port. A small shuttle awaits them and Sister Lillyana shares goodbyes with everyone except Tyan. Lillyana visibly upset that it was not her going after Redora asks Leeloo if she knows what to do. Leeloo replies simply, “Kill her.” Lillyana nods and drives away.

The group is introduced to a no-nonsense paramedic named Jem and her slightly intoxicated roguish pilot Terix Race. Terix immediately takes a liking to Leeloo and offers for her to ride co-pilot with him. Leeloo as if a completely different person allows Terix to view her as naïve girl without experience in a pilot’s set. In the back Tyan is regaling Eva with tale after tale of Leeloo’s escapades and achievements.

Nearly as much of a relief it is to the force sensitive men to leave the pull of Dathomir it is as heart breaking for Leeloo. In space they get their first sight of the heavy frigate Salv II. By use of a Gullian wheel it is towing an even larger frigate. On board the Salv II they meet Captain Addison and the rest of his crew; Cric Baston, Ches, Herin, Bore Baston and Doctor Terra. He explains they are a deep space rescue vessel and salvage operation.

Accommodations are given; Tyan and his entourage in one room, Leeloo and Eva in Cric’s old room and Yago and Corraun in the last. Over dinner they met another guest onboard the vessel, CorSec officer Warrick Meza. The heroes learn that he and his prisoner were picked up from a distress call in the Felta system. They learn that the ship they are towing, The Lane Blazer was found five days again with an automated distress call. All escape pods where ejected and no one remained aboard. The events of what happened to the vessel are unknown, only that a two-meter hole is on the port side, likely an asteroid collision. The next day Tyan is already board to death and dreading the next eight days of travel back to civilization. Leeloo leaving her lightsaber hidden continues to exercise her acting skills by playing the part of a scared innocent girl with some and as a sultry seductress with Terix Race, even so far as sharing a shower together.

Eva and Leeloo have an in-depth if not awkward conversation about Tyan. Leeloo protests that her feelings for Tyan are gone, but Eva is uncertain it will remain that way now that she is reunited with him. The Jedi eventually learn that the prisoner on board is Baro the Butcher a vicious and dangerous killer from Corellia.

One the third day they ship makes an emergency drop out of hyperspace. The sublight drives of the Lane Blazer have turned off preventing the use of the Gullian wheel. Cric and Ches make the long space walk to the dead vessel. Cric finds nothing wrong in the bridge as Ches investigated the engine room. The engines are ignited but Ches is non-responsive to communication. Cric finds Ches bleeding from an abdominal wound and takes him back to the ship. Dr. Terra manages to save Ches’ life, but the nature of the injury can only be speculated, as he remains unconscious. The doctor believes the injury is an accident and Ches fell on some jagged part of the damaged ship.

Knight Xergo explains the situation with Officer Meza who leaves Xergo alone to watch Baro for a few minutes. Baro tells Yago that he has information of another murderer on board and will share that information in exchange for a shower. The knight does not bite on Baro’s hook and is relieved when Meza returns.

Five hours later that night a fire and small explosion occurs in Med bay 2. The investigation reveals that possibly Ches had awoke and perhaps due to a terrible reaction to the medications and oxygen treatment he was out of his mind and used a las-scalpel to cut on himself and accidentally ignited the oxygen tank causing a small explosion and the fire immolating the corpse.

Suspicious this was no accident Xergo and Leeloo go to question Baro about a killer on board. Continuing her act of a scared innocent girl she enters his cell and attempts to barter. Again he wants a trip to the refresher before telling who is a murderer. Meza exits his room forcing Leeloo to quickly exit the cell. Xergo tells office Meza of the “accident” and that he should investigate, and is seen questioning the crew over the next day. The heroes believing a danger is on board agree to keep alert.

The fourth day while walking the ship Tyan and Eva stumble across a large pool of blood, too much from anyone one person to have survived, but where is the body?
