The Topaz Championship begins! Every major clan are represented this year as usual and also a ronin looking for sponsorship. The contestants are:

The first two rounds, Sumai and Heraldry, pass uneventfully with the participants showing off their strength and knowledge. On the other hand the third round, Athletics, had many surprises and was the downfall of many of the contestants. Most notable was Akodo who fell in the river, lost his shoe, and was severely injured by the Kuwaga needles. Shosuro found a hidden rope which she used to cross the sharp needles. Another interesting pair was Kakita and Shinjo, who were running around the third bend and were assaulted by Bureli Wasps. Kakita was severely hurt which made the next two parts of the athletics race difficult and she lost several points.

After the Athletics round, there was a small intermission during the hour of Hantei (11am- 1pm) when the contestants were given a time to rest and heal.

Afterwards was the Horsemanship and Law competitions. In the Horsemanship Shinjo showed why the Unicorn are renowned horse riders by dominating the competition. The rest of the contestants came out with mixed results but mostly favorable. Lastly was the Law competition where Shosuro and Kakita showed off the prowess of their voice. Hida also demonstrated that he has a touch of the void (Touch of the Void disadvantage) At the end, the participants were cordially invited to a dinner.
