Won’t be able to make it tonight; I’ve got a graduation party I’m being brought to for a friend of Sena’s family. Either of the two days noted would be ok for me though as a make up session.
Sorry guys, some technical difficulties tonight. I had planned to use Ventrillo but I didnt have all the info for the server in time tonight. I should have it for tomorrow but if not my skype id is bgg8639. I had planned to mention tonight but we will be using d20pro for mapping/encounters. Latest version is v2.3.0, all you need is the free guest license. d20pro site
Well holy hot damn.
Congratulations!
I’ve heard, from many reliable sources, that the first child is craziness. Everywhere.
Fridays are actually fine with me, as I’ve had to drop my Saturday game, GMing two games a week is just too much.
If you can do it tonight, great, if not, no worries. I’m honestly surprised you haven’t completely forgotten about this game, pretty sure I would have. Possibly due to exhaustion.
I was planning to schedule an intro session this Friday, but it looks like I may have family in town that day. I am still missing two character backgrounds and I am trying to finalize my map and regional information for posting. Please bear with me on the slow start here – we just had our first child born last week and its taking a lot of time to take care of her. Fear not however – I will find a way to fit the campaign in as I think we are all pretty excited to get started!
I GM on Saturday night, can’t do that.
I could do Friday, but I’d really rather not.
My personal preference is Monday thru Thursday, but if Friday is the only day that will work, then Friday it is.
As you all decide on or finalize your characters, here is some food for thought:
The party currently has no rogue, bard, ranger or druid. You guys can certainly get by without them, but at some point those skills might be useful to have.
Another note: for casters please fill in the spell component abbreviations on your character sheets (V,S,M). This is mostly for my convenience, to reference what parts should be in your spells
Regarding the earlier question about tone: I intend the plot to be fairly serious and somewhat harrowing (though this depends on where you take it!) but there is plenty of room for light-hearted and humorous situations as well.
I apologize for the lengthy planning stages here – I have been pretty busy IRL so I have been slow to get information up, and some of our players are still working on their characters. I hope to be able to post the rest of the information about Suldaire (maps, nations, etc) before too long. Then we can synch up our schedules and get started.
Please bear with us and keep the feedback coming! :)
Yes, this will be Pre spell-plague (sorry I actually wasn’t familiar with it, had to look it up ;). On a somewhat related note, we are post Time of Troubles (thus Kelemvor has the Death portfolio instead of Cyric) — in my mind the “classic” gods of Faerûn. My world is a bit darker than when the Realms were bright and sunny, but the good deities are still doing alright.

I only ask because it could be either, and some of the gods died or were resurrected, or their domains were changed etc. It all has to do with the whole “new” D&D philosophy of civilization being points of light in a dark world…. or something like that.
I’ve played with this DM before, and he allows a fair amount if creative license with his players. As a general rule, if its something you or your character really wants, you can eventually obtain it with some work, provided its not incredibly overpowered. Make new spells! Formulate new potions! Hell, get your weasel familiar chain mail armor!
Just expect to work for it. The odder or more powerful the creative concept, the more work your character will have to put into it. If course, that makes it more worth while, and he generally gives rewards for enriching the game, personalizing it and making it your own, in fun and unique ways.
Depends a little what you mean by Homebrew. Obviously I am using a bunch of my own custom stuff in the campaign. As far as player characters I am pretty open to unusual concepts in general but I need to make sure they are balanced. I like to stick to races/classes that are documented somewhere in 3.x so that we have some definition about their abilities. (I have run into problems with custom class/races where their abilities seem to shift every play session to suit the player). I will consider anything from any of the supplements and at least take a look at the online stuff. Again, as long as I can determine it is balanced and will not overshadow the other players it should be fine.
I like it so far.
How are you with Homebrew stuff? You seem alright with it, but hey, last 3.x game I was in, the DM said he was fine with homebrew, approved my homebrew stuff, and then booted me from the game for using homebrew after the first (combatless, even) session. So I’m a bit wary.

Awesome journal entries folks! Definitely interesting reading!
Also, I’ll go ahead and speak up for Kral. His Computer hates Ventrilo. We never found the reason but He actually cannot talk on vent 99% of the time.
Nice, Love d20pro.
Also, I have my backstory, I just need to to accept my contact request in skype so I can send you the file.

Need contact info.
Skype id, vent address, maptool server, etc.
The 12th is on a Saturday, can I get confirmation that we play on Saturdays?
>One of the players missing his background
I knew there was something I was forgetting about.
Well holy hot damn.
Congratulations!

So, do we have a time, or a starting date?
Fridays are good.
Fridays work very well for me.

POLL: Would the following game times work for everyone?
Fridays after 8pm EST and/or Saturdays after 4pm EST

This is 3.5, so pre, I would think.
Stupid Spell-Plague.
Quick question: Pre spell plague deities or post spell plague. (Just so I can get the correct choices of names).
And can we get some info on the setting itself?
Gods, Lands, Peoples, etc
Also, when are you aiming to start?
What sort of tone are you wanting for this game? Grim and serious, light-hearted, or mix?
I’m really excited about this. I’m working on reading the 3.5 player’s guide right now then I will start coming up with a character.
Glad to hear it. I tend to do a lot of homebrew.
