A matrix is a magical construct that organizes or amplifies magical power. A matrix is ranked by level. The level of the matrix is the amount of S.E. that the matrix adds to any spell cast through it. The level of the matrix is also the number of mages that can join together through it. When mages join in a matrix circle, they decide who will take the lead and becomes the focus and cast the actual spells using the other mages as batteries and as focusing agents. In a matrix circle each mage contributes all of their S.E. to a pool from which the S.E. that is used by the focus. The multiplier based on the caster’s mage branch combat mod is increased by 1 for each member of the matrix circle. When a matrix circle is dissolved the lead of the matrix circle decides where the pooled resources are redistributed.
