Parry and Shield rules
Parry
Parry or Shield skill – Other Parry explanation
Make a roll only when you “may have been hit” by melee only ( the roll is over your AR by up to your weapon’s parry value )
On a success the attack has been parried
The first roll in a round is a normal roll and each successive attempt is reduced
Shield only
Make a roll when you have been hit by melee or ranged or ranged spells
On a success
- The attack has been completely parried if your shield AR bonus would have caused a miss
- If the attack was not parried then the shield provides dice of protection equal to the shield value to offset damage
