Bravo indeed! You set a high mark for us noobs just breaking ground here at O.P. Get that PhD and start work on that “page turner” of yours, because if this setting and devotion is any indication of your creative drive, we will all be eager to read it!
Congrates!
Congrats on the Campaign of the Year!!!!!
Two thumbs up! Looks like all your hard work and creativity has paid off.
Thank you all for the warm congrats! With all the great campaigns on the list, this win is definitely an honor. I hope you all continue to visit LotR and give us the feedback. From gamers like all of you, any feedback or comment would be most welcomed!
AveryASmith: with diehard, the house rule states: After sustaining damage that would bring a creature below 0 HP, if brought above 0 hit points, a creature suffers a -5 penalty to all skill rolls and attack modifiers, and is slowed and dazed until it can rest for 24 hours, regardless of how many hit points are recovered. These penalties apply regardless of whether or not potions of healing were used. However, “diehard” should supersede this rule since the character with this daily never actually fell unconscious (experienced “Near Death”), although the “dazed” part of diehard would remain.
We like this house rule since it encourages players to avoid dropping below 0 HP (through careless playing perhaps). It also allows for ‘healing’ time which you often see in movies where injured people have to rest for a while before going back to combat. 4E basically allows you to surge up once healed above 0 HP, and BOOM, back to combat without feeling any effects from nearly dying. This seemed rather Velveeta (cheesy) to us. Great question!
Congrats on the CotY win. I had a question about one of your house rules. does diehard make a difference on the dazed after coming back from 0 HP rule?
Congrats on Winning COTY.
Well done on winning CotY! Excellent stuff!
Congrats on the COTY!!
Grats on the win for CotY!!!
Your Adventure Logs read like a novel!!! If your gaming sessions playout like the write-ups then your group must have a great time. Such rich characters. And I love the many arcs. Look forward to reading more of the adventure log when I have more time. Your campaign rocks!
Congrats on Campaign of the Month Rich!
Hi RRouillard and Players!
I read the interview on CoTM today and was introduced to your campaign. Very good looking and easy to follow wiki.
I enjoyed reading through the “Heroes’ Chronicles” – I liked the layout of the ones completed so far and love the little MINI photos. Brings a sense of your game reality to the wiki page.
That “Sword of Ice” is a nice weapon – something that a couple of my Fourteenth level characters would like (but they are NOT going to get).
The writing in the Adventure Logs is of great quality and again, I really like those little photos of the Character MINIS. Player contribution generally seems pretty good – I like the way the wiki page of Bear’s Head is accredited to the player, nightcrawler78.
House Rules are simple and all seem to make sense. We don’t do the “BODY PARTITIONS” but I certainly FEEL where it is coming from. We do similar things with the CRITS rolls (Three 20s is always a death in my campaign – it has only happened once though!) and the LINE OF SITE rule makes total sense.
Furthermore, in the RRouillard’s interview he pointed out that the group adapts the FR settings and makes it their own, and that generally in playing, you let the rules be as guides rather than dictum, both of which I heartily agree with.
Thanks for introducing me to your campaign and I hope you continue to have as much fun as you have obviously had up until now!

Your games sound great. Your adventure log is the best one that I have seen.
Congrats of the CotM win. As I said back in September, this is a great campaign.
great campaign :) you may have even convinced me to give 4th a try… maybe……. if u have time come check out my campaign, an comments or advice is greatly appreciated! ^^
I am with SoothingSolice. I cant stand 4th ed. but this campaign is so well done it is making me take a second look. Great story line and wonderful formatting. I look forward to what may come next.
This actually makes me want to play 4th edition (and believe me that’s saying something).
Looks like it is coming along. Hope all your players enjoy all the work you will be putting in to it.
Cheers!
