Somersham
Clear, mild temperature with a slight breeze

Elora began her day normally – caring for her garden and collecting water for the day from the nearby Somer River. As she returned, she found Mary of Somersham distraught. Mary pleaded with Elora to help her find the family’s missing pet cat. Mary’s children found the cat to be one of their few joys in life and her husband Johnathon son of Brom would be unsympathetic to the loss. She needed to find the cat, but could not devote much time to the search or else the day’s work would be undone.

Elora said she would keep an eye out for the cat and give a look around. Later in the day, she found muddy pawprints on the edge of an old dry well. Listening carefully she heard a crying meow from below. Getting some rope and a bucket and food she tried unsuccessfully to lure the cat into the bucket to pull it up. With Marys help, Elora went down the well to fetch the feline. On the way down, she found a ledge in the middle of the well and in front of it a door – a very odd place for a door, indeed.

Elora retrieved the cat, and returned it to Mary not mentioning the peculiar find.
