Donovan Mule Bragg

He’s only referred to as “Mule” by his friends. Maybe one of the members of the party might even count amongst that number… eventually.

He’s called Mule because he is “ugly as a…” “Stubborn as a…” “Hits like a…” (and, that’s not all the similarities he has… nudge nudge)

Donovan is only one of 13 (living) brothers and sisters (and half siblings). His lack of discipline and short temper resulted in many fights as a young man. Though he always tried to stick up for those who couldn’t defend themselves

The first time he entered one of his “Raged” was when his younger brother was killed by a goblin during a raid by the Skullcrushers tribe. (He’s still got the scar from the goblin sword, just under his ribs. He didn’t even know he had been stabbed until after his rage subsided.)

He was discharged from the militia. He did his time, but his superiors were not sad to see him go. Made some good friends, and the cantankerous old drill sergeant was like a second father to him.

Then he did some mercenary work. Paid decent (that’s where he got his starting money) but the contract dried up. The scar he has across his face came from a bugbear axe during his mercenary work. His helmet was the only thing that kept his head from being cleaved in two. The medic stitched him up after the battle (surprised that he was still alive). Afterwards he was turned over to the ministrations of the chaplain, a priestess of Iomedae named Timea Andaire. He will treat most ladies with a certain cavalier disregard, and is not above overt harassment, but that particular lady had earned his affections. There is a chance that he has children of his own running around. Possibly some that are even adults in their own right.

So he started working for the logging company. Did well enough too… Even enjoyed the job. Until one day the Axe they had given him broke. He went to get a new one, and they said they were going to take it out of his pay. Heated words resulted in Donovan clubbing the foreman with the axe handle and walking off the job.
He still has the axe handle and, some whisper, a couple of the foreman’s teeth.
