What can I do to get you guys more involved in Obsidian portal. Its getting very cumbersome to pour so much time into this portal and have it not be used. Its such a pain in the rear. How can I get you guys more involved in obsidian portal, or should I just not expect anything from you guys on this portal.
in the process of writing
Attention Players, I have realized that I have currently been the only one writing the Story here. As you noticed I did create a suggestions page and a Lore page. Please use those pages frequently not only will you get development points for using them but you guys are more likely to go on adventures in places that you guys want to and the story will better relate to you guys. Please create NPC’s and post lore and suggestions soon if at all possible. Currently darksun will go on Hiatus until I have more material to use for the upcomming adventures because I am running out of ideas. You guy’s characters and fun matter to me most please give me more infomration and more stuff to play with.
So, now I leave my master’s side, his training still fresh in my mind, and his power crackling through my soul. I shall be his will in this wide world, gathering power to myself to ensure his dominance.
The cities shall once again know the power of Dregoth, and fear his name… but there will be another name that they shall fear… and that shall be my own.
the Xp that all of you recieved from the last encounter total was 1350 XP. Please divide that among the 7 characters that were present during this encounter.
I"m very happy that the RP homework and other pages on the RP section are beginning to fill up, but I still think that people can do more on on this wiki. Especially with the lore page I know I havn’t had a chance to post lore, but it is so bare. The player lore page is bare (thats understandable with the new setting) and the aquired lore has nothing. You guys have learned so much about the world, Merchanting Symbols, ship designs Ancient Relics, Temples, Islands, NPC’s, places (ie. the aquafir) and nothing has been posted on any of these things. its kinda bugging me and I don’t want to take the time to post it myself because I have adventure building to do. Also I want to get people posting more NPC’s and other character developments. I am implimenting this rule of the critical characters. A player who posts frequently and updates things will have a greater role in the story than a person who doesn’t post. No one will ever be kicked out I love playing with you guys, but if I can’t know more about your character and what they have learned (Sevrin you especially should be posting since you arn’t sharing any info with the party) then they will not be a big part of the story. I can’t work with characters I’m not learning anything about I hope you guys will understand my frustration. Also people who have not posted item wish lists please do that. If there is something that will get you guys to post on obsidian more please tell me i’m interested. Thank you and I hope to see more posts from all of you (SEVRIN and PIK-IK-CHA that means you too.)
Welcome
I am the development point merchant, I am here to help you in any way I can. I am the owner of the Development point store and I am happy to help you. Please post what you want in the comments below and I will deduct the number of points from your account. Then you will receive the item or feat or whatever you asked for during the next game session from your DM.
I would like to get everyone involved in this whole obsidian portal thing. Those of you who get on regularly, please get those who are not on regularly to come onto this wiki and actually do things. Sevrin, Pik-ik-cha, and sundor need to make characters and everyone else needs to do more posting please. I will award Development points to those who help get the 3 stragglers involved as well, as give out development points for creating character sheets and posting an item wish list before this weekend, that includes people who cant come. Also if someone help Evangeline and Sundor navigate the site they will also recieve development points.
This is a new system i’m introducing that will hopefully get more people involved in obsidian portal with this dark sun game. currently with so few posts (part of which is my fault.) I have had little time to develop these pages lately. I am asking you guys to help me out. Offer suggestions, participate in weekly RP’s and RP homework, and even giving me character background, back-story and other suggestions to improve me as a DM and to make the game fun for all of you.
The way develop points function is every time you you post in certain area’s they are worth a certain number of Development points. Head to the development points tool under the DM tools section to learn more. Happy Roleplaying
So, now that we are firmly rooted into this campaign and we have started collecting treasure it is time to decide…what is our treasure policy?
Here are the 2 classic options, but feel free to suggest other ones.
We have a party pool of treasure and decide as a group how the money is spent
Pros
- Unwise decisions avoided
- No arguments about uneven distributions
- More expensive purchases can be made quicker for the good of the party
Cons
- Unrealistic in a story sense (in other words very meta-game)
- Likely to cause arguments about what is best to buy
- People who miss discussions about spending could get frustrated
We divide the treasure evenly
Pros
- No arguments about spending
- Purchases for “story reasons” easier and make more sense
- Everyone can budget their own “survival days” themselves adding to the “Survival of the fittest” aspect of the story CrownedFalcon00 is going for
Cons
- Money that doesn’t divide evenly could cause arguments
- Expensive purchases take longer to buy.
- Things that the party as a whole need become harder to decide how to buy, ei rituals, travel, boarding, etc.
