At the stroke of Midnight on New Years, 2011, Vancouver experienced a most horrific tragedy. A group of Seers of the Throne infiltrated and blew up the sanctum of the Silver Ladders and with it killed not only the majority of the Order, but also the Hierarch and most of his cabal.

The Silver Ladders owned and operated an Opera House within Vancouver and were celebrating the opening night of a new show when the attack happened and so many, many Sleepers were also murdered in the attack. Most other Mages in the consilium were present at a yearly New Years party being thrown by the Adamantine Arrows at their lodge and so though a few people were able to be rescued from the attack, they were not quick enough to save the bulk of them. The event has hit Vancouver hard, however, the resilience of the consilium has shown through. The late Hierarch, Amadeus, was lucky enough to have the gift of foresight and so, with his Cabal, set up things up so that the consilium would be able to continue on. Malachi, recently married to Eowyn, Amadeus’s daughter, was named the new Hierarch, and Vancouver has been working to rebuild the consilium ever since.

The Mages of Vancouver are a strong lot, however. And this event has only strengthened relations between Vancouver and Belfast, indeed between Vancouver and New Atlantis itself.
