Our heroes finish their talk with Sozar, the Frost Wilder. They then take some rest in their quarters, and then off to the feast in their honor. This feast appears to be a legitimate welcoming, until our honored guests realize they are in fact unwillingly recruited to dispatch the foul demon summoned by the Warlord Zan-Yon. It also seems that other forces are at work as goblets of poisoned wine are served. After nearly dying, Sen-Jan and Richord set out to figure out who in fact poisoned them. After much backtracking, it leads to Master Cook Yerk who took payment from the the Temple of Sarduk.

In the morning our party is involved in a battle planning for later in the day. It seems that the foul demon must be dispatched and the warlord stopped. And so as the eagle flies high at noon, the forces align and battle commences. It is here that our heroes see that Sozar in fact battles across the skies with snow and frost forces against another foe far to the north. As expected, the foul demon appears to feast on the Mana of the Mages and a huge battle ensues for our heroes. The demon exudes noxious gas which has 3 stages of effect, and our heroes feel all stages during battle. Sen-Jan takes the brunt of the damage as he stands toe to toe with the foul creature, while Richord slowly dismantles him with his Fate de-buffs from the background.

In the end, the party stands victorious, the demon is destroyed, and Suella destroys the amulet of summoning. King Harkayn honors the Atlantian Mages, and gives up the Mask of Chaos as per request of the missive. They are to travel to Central Hyrkania and deliver this item to Shaka-Kul, Grand Vizier of the Adamantine Arrow. However, there are loose ends; this Temple of Sarduk that tried to poison them, and the mysterious Frost Mage from the Tower of Winternight…
