Spellthieving is the ability to steal the magic of others for ones own use. While this has obvious benefits in conflict or the battlefield, many of the other schools of magic distrust spellthieves (for obvious reasons). The biggest opponents to spellthieves are those still using traditional magic, as they are the most susceptible to having their powers stolen.
The head of the spellthieves at Clearhaven is Roma, a female whisper gnome. Her classes are held in dank dark rooms, and all penalties for “cheating” in her classes are amplified, with many students losing years worth of effort for being late to a test. That being said, her tests are rumored to be impossible to pass alone, and she refuses to pass more than 50% of her students, resulting in a very cutthroat learning environment. Glim Schmingle is generally opposed to this method of training, but given that many spellthieves are used in missions which require more…covert…techniques, he has deferred to Roma’s judgement.
