nice layout and a very enjoyable campaign. Keep up the good work, I shall certainly be watching.
Absolutely excellent adventure, man.
I’m shamelessly stealing a couple of your achivement rules.
WoW,
is all I can say… I have to admit this is one of the best Ive found so far.. makes me wish I knew what I was doing…
I have just spent 2+ hours reading and see I have so much more to read…. Mandatory reading for my players indeed :)
Wow i take it back, this campaign is AMAZING! rly great work inspiring, look forward to reading more into the world you have brought to life in the days to come
I love your layout on the Melakar Chronicles – very refreshing – yet somehow both modern and antiquated. The milestones and achievements are an excellent idea. But I will say more on this on your forum post!

Hey thanks Arsheesh! I made them a while ago, but I never got around to updating those pages. I thought they turned out really cool too :).
I LOVE those new banners you have made for your character journals section Gaaran, really top notch work.
Cheers,
-Arsheesh
Dude, you are one BAMF. I cannot contain my jealousy.
Your site keeps getting better and better Garaan. Good job!
Gaaran, I just want to say that I am both impressed and inspired by your new layout, particularly the layout for the History and Geography sections. It is not only incredibly user friendly, but also stunning to behold. Kudos!
Cheers,
-Arsheesh
Lovely work Gaaran. Your players are most fortunate :-) Happy gaming!
Oops, I mean Ank* :P
Hey, thanks, Ant! I originally drew them out on a poster board (which was a real pain to scan), and then I used some Tutorials at the [[Cartographer’s Guild|http://forum.cartographersguild.com/]] to make them. The maps of Wellspring and Fallcrest were made by Wizards of the Coast.
how did you make the maps? they look fantastic.
Greetings
Did you use Animoto for your video? Good stuff!
I’m out of town (but not without my laptop) so it’ll have to wait a few days, but I’d be happy to share the code. Someone might even be able to suggest how to clean it up, all I know is that it works :). Thanks for the kind words!
Great site gaaran- the layout is incredible! Any chance we can get you to share the template code? This is just wonderful!
Top notch video, Garaan. Now, I have to download After Effects and get to work, eclipsed by that video’s immortal shadow. So… I’ve got that to look forward to…
As always, I stand impressed and humbled,
Duskreign
Thanks for all the congrats guys! Stay tuned to the adventure log, the best is yet to come! :)
To Cinnamon: I don’t even want to think about it… :)
If Ember and the furball had a baby, what would it look like…?
Congratulations on the Feature :)
Last but not least: Congratulations Garaan!!!
Gaaran, congratulations!
Congratulations Gaaran (and company)! This is a campaign well worth it’s featured status.
Cheers,-Arsheesh
After reading though the Melekar again, I could help but comment on your sweet ideas, and incorporating other designs as well. Great job, I might have to borrow some for my games.
Super_bowser
Holy cow man. That video was top-notch! LOVED the music choice! What was it? I plan on doing something similar in my game.
Well, hey, thanks duskreign! I can’t take 100% credit for all the house rules, as the prestige points and disfigurements I borrowed from other users, but the achievements are all me, and they’ve been proving to be pretty fun so far!
Many sites on Obsidian Portal impress me with their layout and design, and yours doesn’t disappoint in this regard. However, what I am most impressed with here is your fantastic house rules. I love the achievements idea and the disfigurements. I use a scar chart and a huge d30 to determine the location and severity of such injuries, caused by failing the first, then second death save when a character falls in combat.
I am impressed, and I wanted you to know you have a new fan in me.
- Duskreign
Haha, nice Sheesh! That’s awesome!
Want to see something cool?
Thanks, arsheesh! Gaaran has put forth an amazing effort with this campaign setting, and it is my hope that we, as his PC’s, are up to the task of inhabiting this richly defined world he has crafted with the same degree of creativity and respect that he has shown us by allowing us to participate in such an engrossing gaming experience.
As for YOU, Gaaran… you can’t keep teasing me like this. When are we going to play!?
Ember rocks! Kbye.
Thanks guys! If you guys want to know how I did it, I have the template code saved, just let me know! (thanks to gnunn and chainsaw for the building blocks)
Greetings Gaaran,
I just happened to see this in the favorite campaign box on the main page and the banner intrigued me to check it out. I have to admit this is a pretty awesome site. I really like how you have laid out your wiki. Keep up the great work.
-Dark-hunter
I love how you have the side bar on the wiki! when i actually get stuck into all of mine will have to aske you how you did it!
well hey sandman, thanks! I’m trying to get a comprehensive campaign setting together, but finding the time to work on it keeps getting harder and harder
Nice touch on the images you used for the side bar Garaan.
Your site keeps getting better and better, keep up the good work!
Haha Jim, feel free to use it if you wish.
OK, that status page is beautiful! I want to steal it!
Hey, thanks Arsheesh. I DO plan on rewriting the “Heroes of Old” pages to make them look more like accounts of the adventure, rather than just my notes, but that’s a big undertaking.
Just read the Godspike notes. Man that must have been an epic campaign! Lot’s of really interesting ideas in there. I was intrigued by the idea of frost giants who mined magic gems used in inter-dimensional travel. The Cicyl character sounded really interesting as well, wish there was a bit more written about this character. All in all sounds like it was a great campaign.
Absolutely awesome setup you got here, mate.
Wow! I like how you’ve set it out! a bit advanced for little old me… (im not very techmological) but its cool, i look forward to seeing more
This looks really cool. Nice work on the site, too!
I never sleep. I’m actually going on a field trip with my daughter tomorrow and couldn’t sleep earlier. If I try to sleep now I’ll never get up so I decided to work on the wiki a bit. Been MS Painting my ass off haha!
Looking forward to seeing your new updates!
You’ve been busy too Jim :). I’m glad you’re liking the achievements, I’ve been delayed in getting my next session of my campaign together, but I’m anxious to try them out as well. And to be fair, I’ve only been retouching and adding pics and stuff, haven’t done too much creating tonight. My next task is to rewrite all the Heroes of Old pages so they read more like accounts or stories rather than notes (which is really what they are now).
I stole a couple (which you already knew) and my players are already thinking about how to best get them. I made a dossier section on the main page that I’m going to make achievement badges for. I see you’re busy as heck with your wiki tonight, keep up the good work!
haha, thanks jim, yeah, i think they look like they’re going to be pretty fun
LOVE the achievements!
Your site is looking pretty sweet Gaaran! I loved looking over your map again as well, you did a great job on it. Look forward to reading more about your world in the days to come.
Cheers, -Arsheesh
