Mustered Out on Mertactor

Feeling rather the worse for wear, Max is able to crawl out of bed early in order to try and arrange for the additional heavy weapons that the party had ordered. The others are able to sleep in a while long, checking out of the hotel at 11.00 and heading back to the starport. They arrive a little ahead of the Aslandables at noon. Reassuringly, the Aslan are all carrying large bags on equipment.

Max is still feeling rather rough from the previous night and so is happy to let Stian take the first leg of the long journey.

Stian gets the grav APC out of the hold, but they are forced to wait for an hour until some of Zos’s flunkies arrive with the additional weaponry that the party members ordered. Max also got Zos to include some pressurized tents and rations (both human and Aslan) to last them for the long journeys to the TTC base and back again.

Once all of the supplies are packed, Stian lifts the AGC off the ground and sends it heading over the town of Lomburing before it skirts the western coast of the Ryemela Ocean which takes the rest of the afternoon. As the sun starts to set, he passes the driving over to Max who has now recovered after having a nap.

Max spends the rest of the evening driving, following one of the rift valleys westwards. he continues driving until after midnight, by which time Grim has calculated that they are now a little over halfway to their destination. As a result, Max brings the APC down and everyone is very glad to stretch their legs for a while before getting some proper sleep in the pressurized tent.

Ch’ur was the Aslan I created for Jay when it seemed like he might not have time to make up an Aslandable. He didn’t take part in the combat, so I’ll edit him out, and he’s currently being moved to the Expendables as an NPC for their new adventures on Pagaton. The Aslan who took part in Sundays battle were Cow(Jay), Kiy(Ian), Warrior(Tim), and your very own Ouearlo.

Is the plural of Aslan, Aslan? Aslen? Aslani? Or just “Oh my God! Look at all those teeth and claws! Run!”?

If we play with them more, we really should add a leaping ability per Tim’s comment re: jumping on fuel tanks. And that speed run they do really makes melee weapons a possibility with them, unlike Humans or Vargr, who are dead before they can close to melee distance.

Thanks for correcting the names – I never did quite understand which belonged to whom, even by the end of the game.

Yes, you are definitely right that their extra movement does make them close combat monsters – especially when they have access to the 4d6 Reaver’s Axe.

I also agree that they should be able to jump pretty far/high as well. I don’t know how many metres it should be, but it would be quite a few.
