Just found out why I was having trouble linking Hilda’s logs, PLEASE DONT USE APOSTROPHIES IN YOUR WIKI PAGE NAMES, it messes up the system.

also i heard a few how do i do str attacks again last session

I think i got this right , but if you disagree please tell me

to get your attack bonus with more or less anything follow this flow chart

First start with 1/2 your level = Level 1= 0 =Level 10 = 5 Then add the ability (str=18) = 4 = 4 Then add any relavent class features (ie rogue’s get +1 to attack with daggers, some fighters get +1 to attack with two handed weapons etc, but only if your using those weapons) = 1 (dude is a great axe fighter = 1

IF you are using a weapon add proficiency bonus =2 =2

THEN add the enhancement bonus (if you got a magic dohicky) =1 (+1 weapon) =1

Then comes feats (some feats will boost your attack, but if you don’t got em don’t sweat them) =0 =0

Total – 9, 14

Now if you are attacking with a impliment lets say its the same as above except you don’t get a proficiency bonus (if instead of great axe , it was a +1 wand wielding wizard = 4int+1 magic weapon =5

So i have a charisma attack as a +3 Magic Great Axe Wielding Warlord 12 with 16 charisma

how much is that

1/2 level = 6 + 3 charisma bonus (16=+3) +2 weapon proficiency +3 Magic Enchanhment = +14

What about a level 7 wizard with a +1 staff making a wisdom attack (Wis 13, str 13)

1/2 level =3 + 1 from wisdom +1 from the staff enchanement (no proficiency) bonus=5

what if that was a multiclass wizard fighter who was making a melee attack with his stick

1/2 level =3 +1 from str, +1 from staff enchancment + 2 proficency bonus (melee attack means he’s attually attack with his stick) = 7

Hope that helps, for the people who made their sheets with me, the basic attacks you have filled out should be a melee str and ranged dex attack respecively ( in order to just get a magical/not weapon str or dex attack remove the profiency bonux)

also a bit about creatures and cover (phb 280)

When you make a ranged attack against an enemy and other enemies are in the way your target has cover.

Your Allies NEVER give cover to the your enemies

and neither allies nor enemies give cover against melee, close, or area attacks

so you can hide behind your ally against ranged attacks on your turn as part of another action against the passive perception of the creature [ in addittion you take the following penalties if you speak -5, if you move more than 2 squares -5 , if you run -10],And that stealth check goes away if the ally moves. or rather if the enemy ever has uninterrupted line of sight on you (no cover , No Concealment) the creature automatically sees you [pg 188].

The bits about the creature taking minor actions for perception checks are for concealed or invisble creatures (when not knowning what square to target would actually make sense)
