Protection of Meycho
Meycho was wandering without his friends near the beginning of time. There, he slipped and partially fell in to the river of time. Unable to free himself from the mud-like waters, he bayed and bayed; hoping some sentient creature would hear him. The river tore at him causing him to loose his grip from time to time and so, slide further and further down the bank – towards the waterfall of infinity.
Eventually a young man, dressed in the colors of Ketephys ran up, following the sound of the baying. The man bent down and offered Meycho his hand in greeting. Meycho placed his head in the man’s hand. “If you free me” Meycho said “I will be eternally grateful”. The man thought for a moment, then tied his belt to a stout tree nearby and anchored his shirt to the belt. He offered Meycho the back of the shirt, saying “Catch hold here and hold on. I’ll return with help.” He then left Meycho’s side. Meycho grasped the shirt with all his might, but when he pulled to free himself, he felt the shirt start to tear.
Sometime later the man returned with Ketephys. Ketephys easily reached into the river of time and lifted his faithful friend from the waters. When Meycho was at last on dry land, Ketephys turned to the man and said “You have saved my friend. Call him and he will come to save you. Only, offer up a puff of dry land to show Meycho that it is safe.”
