Superstition
Superstition ● To ●●●●●
The character is so well steeped in his Style, he finds it difficult to manage magic without it, but in return, finds greater sympathy with his Watchtower through it.
Similar to the Destiny Merit, Superstition allows an Awakened heroic strengths and crippling weakness. Unlike Destiny, however, superstitions are weaker, more specific, and affect magic ONLY. After spending an action enacting her Superstition, the mage gains dice equal to half her rating (rounded up) in this merit to her casting roll. This can usually be done at the same time as chanting HighSpeech. (At the Story Teller’s discretion). The specific superstition should align with that character’s magical style, and should be expressed in detail during play. Characters with this merit may seem to have OCD (or actually MAY).
Drawback: If ever a mage is unable to enact his superstition, he suffers penalties to the casting pools of those spells that do not get the blessing of his superstitions equal to his full rating in this merit.
