The archery skill concerns the use of bows and arrows. It does not apply to thrown weapons or improvised thrown weapons.

Hunter’s Focus

When making a ranged attack with a bow against an object or a flat footed enemy you may reduce range penalties and the target’s size modifier by a number equal to your ranks in Archery.
