Deglos, where the gnomes, halflings, and dwarves make their homes. The forests give rise to foothills, where the halflings and some gnomes live together in small bustling hamlets, farming and creating artwork to be sold across the HCR. A little further east lies the mountains, and the Millenial Gate— carved out of solid granite and the only (known) entrance to the underground realm of the dwarves. 200 feet tall and weighing thousands of tons, this is the ultimate defensive barrier, created in ages past, before the elves and dwarves were forced into an uneasy alliance in order to fight the Oxchaga. The face of the Millenial Gate is filled with dwarven ballistae, scorpions, and arcane cannon of ancient design and awesome power. Hundreds of thousands of dwarves reside within deep tunnels, both natural and mined, within the mountains. Some of the larger cities are built within natural caverns that stretch for 2 or 3 miles in diameter, lit by the fungi clinging to the stalactites above. Mithral, platinum, gold and silver are mined by these hardy folk, and rumor has it that there is even a source of adamantium within their kingdom.
